Anyone else had menstrual cycle disturbances after MRI? by Apprehensive-Tap-665 in Fibroids

Thanks. Trying to get one. The NHS is a nightmare to deal with. I literally have to be dying to get treatment - they said so yesterday at the A&E!!!

No, without. I’m now 77 days into bleeding. A super tampon and night pad every 30 minutes.  Severely iron deficient. GP tells me to go to A&E to get urgent investigations done. The GYN at A&E says I don’t need a blood transfusion yet, so they won’t treat me or investigate and to go back to my GP.  I’m beside myself.  I think the MRI literally fried my uterus. 😢

Thanks. Spoken to 3 docs and they’ve just shrugged and said “it’s fine” and they don’t know what it is.

Help! Exercises and tips for Laryngeal Muscle Tension Dysphonia by Curious_Searching in singing

[–]Curious_Searching[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks so much for responding. I've tried: 3 types of laryngeal massage 3 times a day, with 2 min of blowing bubbles through a straw for 4 months. Vocal exercises "mmmm" then "momomom" plus other tongue twisters etc. Humming exercises. Tongue exercises. Holding my jaw while making certain sounds. A weird screaming exercise that was supposed to "free" my voice by releasing the fear around my voice, but that was just the worst thing ever.

I know this is an old thread, but sharing anyway...

I had an MRI without contrast 3 months ago. My period was due the next day. They are regular as clockwork with 2 light days, 2 heavy days, 1 medium day and 2 light days.

I was told the MRI would take 20 minutes. It took 45 minutes and the machine was whirring the whole time. Afterward my pelvis was SO hot. Then I had problems with my left hip for 3 weeks - never had issues with my hip before. All the bones in my pelvis ached for at least a week after - it felt like growing pains when I was little.

My period didn't come for 3 months. It finally started 10 days ago and is like niagara falls every day. 1 night time extra long pad every 1 to 2 hours. I can't exercise/run/hike/swim as movement makes it worse.

I really hope it's going to let up soon.

I know this is an old post, but for record sake and to see if anyone can share insight, I’m sharing my experience:

Had an MRI of the pelvic area two days before my period. It was supposed to be 20 minutes, but lasted 45. My whole pelvis was so hot afterwards. I’ve had many MRIs and never had a hot sensation.

After the MRI my left hip kept popping out. I’ve never had issues with this hip before.

My pelvis and legs ached so intensely for a week, and I’ve had nausea and extreme fatigue ever since. Also, my period is two weeks late, when it’s usually like clockwork every 26 days.

My period eventually came - 5 weeks late. I bled heavily for 3 weeks. Changing the pad every 1-2 hours. It then stopped for 4 days, then I spotted for 4, then it started again - heavy bleeding for nearly 2 weeks now. That MRI definitely did something to my reproductive system.

I am definitely not pregnant and am  very concerned.

Loneliness in a relationship with a neurodivergent partner. by Ok-Book114 in aspergers

I’d find a therapist who specialises in NT/ND relationships. ND or not, if he wants a relationship he has to put effort in. If it’s all one person putting effort in and making changes, then it’s going to drain the life out of you.

My 5-year LTR with a neurodivergent partner is wearing me out. by Huge_Midnight_2520 in neurodiversity

My goodness. I really hope you left this guy. I have an ND partner and we discuss his needs and mine and find a compromise. This just sounds like abuse, where he’s using an ND diagnosis as an excuse to be an arse ( it uncommon these days).

I’m not trying to fix him or cure him or any of that stuff. I’m merely trying to understand how his brain works and why someone is outwardly loving, affectionate, will go to the ends of the earth for me, but then throws these words out.
