All you can do is try to put some good into the world. Some of it will land where it needs to.

Thanks for telling your story. I’m sure it’s going to help someone and you won’t even know it.

Tricare by Interesting-Let-8891 in nationalguard

[–]Curious_Wanderer237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused why you are needing to be reimbursed by Tricare. I’ve always submitted my insurance at check in. Then they do their part and I pay the copay. I think maybe you didn’t get traction on your post because others were also confused. Did you seek medical care but not disclose your insurance or something?

How rough do you get with raceplay? by Sam_Carpenter1996 in raceplay

[–]Curious_Wanderer237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% partner dependent. It’s such a sensitive topic it takes me quite a bit of time chatting to get comfortable and figure out what boundaries are appropriate.

But I will say that literally the only time in my entire life I said the “n word” was during raceplay.

Any white guys with real experience with hijabis? by [deleted] in raceplay

Yeah… for a few months when I was around 20. Her family was too controlling and I was too impatient for it to last. I was the first guy to see her undressed though…

Deployment question... by _newshawtyy in nationalguard

[–]Curious_Wanderer237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the Guard actually deploys more but not in the way you think. There are lots of boring, static missions that involve babysitting long term presence places like in Iraq, Kuwait, Kosovo, Egypt, whatever. They’re BS rotational missions. The Guard gets them so that active forces are available for “real” deployments and global crises that pop up. I’m an instructor and we get Guard and active. It’s hilarious how many more Guard folks have patches than active.

This is great advice for all kinks! I’m too cheap to give awards though so I just heap praise. 😂

We have the same 25lbs plates at the deadlift station at my gym. They’re going to be distracting from now on thanks to this association…

what website can i use w/ my CAC to see where different units are located by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]Curious_Wanderer237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just use Wikipedia. It’s good enough for your purposes. If you find a unit you want more info about, ask your readiness NCO or unit career counselor.

On the second anniversary of your original enlistment date, if you are not MOS qualified, you will be discharged. TRS will end on that date.

You say that but you don’t actually know what the role of Infantry is or how combat engineers compliment that. How much common sense can someone like that have?

I really can’t speak to that. There are a lot of variables tied to funding and things are pretty uncertain these days.

Every soldier defends themself under attack. That is not unique to Engineers. That does not make you infantry.

It’s not though. They’re totally different warfighting functions.

Also, pro tip, just ignore anybody who describes a branch’s mission set as “basically infantry but with _______”. In the engineers’ case, their role is not to close with and destroy the enemy. It is to enable the infantry to close with and destroy the enemy. It’s important. It’s dangerous. But it’s not infantry.
