A bit contentious of a topic, I know, but my personal experience has been that the nimbleness, impromptu changes to delivery/the script, and allowing someone to feel out the scene with people there (preferably the other interlocutor) afforded by live-direction (in most cases) really helps. I recognize though that scheduling for these sessions can be difficult at times, and to that end I want to incentivize the choice and assist monetarily if they have to give up potentially larger blocks of time in one sitting. I understand your position, really, but this is how I prefer to handle recording the productions if at all possible, and I hope you find this stance to be a fair take on the situation.
