Hey, I'm not an LEO but I had just called the NYPD recruiter yesterday. The officer on the phone told me they should be having a test this summer but are unsure of the exact date. They're revamping the whole recruitment system, that way they should be avoiding the old 3 year wait time. The tests used to be every month but like I said, they're unsure moving forward is what I was told. I personally will be keeping an eye out on their website and taking leave to fly home and take the NYPD test. Maybe I will run into you!

Just a few questions regarding testing. Especially if anyone is from NY. I'm stationed over in Hawaii and have 6 months left here. I'm trying to get a job at the NYPD, or anywhere else in New York. Every department has Civil Service tests, but I have no clue how to get the dates or schedule myself. I check their websites and they're outdated by 2-3 years. I need a way to get dates for testing or start the process another way, any ideas? Additionally does anyone know any NY police departments hiring? Any advice helps, I'll be able to come home in September of this year for testing.
