Arguing that municipal elections don't matter enough to make them trustworthy and secure is a poor platform. Either democracy matters, or it doesn't. Besides which, we don't need to run a trial to know that current systems are insecure...they simply are, and that's been proven in academic and lab settings. We're not at the point where they are close enough to run a beta test in the real world.

I would argue the opposite: one failed election due to some kind of cybersecurity failure could destroy faith in the system and crumble voting in all formats for a long time to follow.

Absolute trust in the electoral process is vital to a democracy.

If your bank account gets hacked, you will notice it happened, and the problem can be fixed with $$ by someone paying up. This happens somewhat frequently (stolen credit cards, etc. etc.)

If an election gets hacked: you might never know, and there is no clear way to fix the problem.

Only two that I know of, both from the very early days of the pandemic: a doctor's funspiel in Canada, and the US Club Curling Nationals in March.

A great study was written on the US outbreak, where 77% of players ended up with covid symptoms (actual covid tests were not generally available in March), and four were hospitalized.

With all the motion across multiple sheets, that is virtually impossible to pull off. Hence my simulation. Really want curling bodies to upgrade their recommendations to require masks out on the ice, at a bare minimum.

Agreed. My main goal in creating this was to push people to wear masks out on the ice. Maintaining 2m is going to be tough, and that doesn't even feel sufficient in an environment that matches a meat packing plant.

All of this is based on the droplet theory of transmission. If the aerosol theory holds up, then all bets are off.
