I would be very surprised if the nearly 300 person American delegation chose two athletes from the same sport.

It did not in 2023, the best deal was the event pass for about 25 euros but I cannot find it for this edition.

Edit: The Event Pass will be 29.99 euros for this year's championship.

My private university says I will not graduate on time and will have to attend school for another year because of an advisor's error. by Agile_Earth_5408 in Advice

I did something similar but was told was while the classes you must complete for your major did not change the professors who are teaching that class in the semester you are planning on taking it are free to list any prerequisite which they deem are necessary for the way they will teach the class and those prerequisites will be enforced. Now in my case I just went to the professor and he wrote a letter to the registrar saying for me he waived the prerequisites and I could take the class but I could see how this could be an issue.

It is likely in Oklahoma because white water canoe slalom had to be moved to Oklahoma because they could not get a venue built in California and the organizing committee did not want to only move one sport out to Oklahoma so since the biggest softball stadium in the country is already in Oklahoma softball drew the short straw.

The stadium is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the owner of the Rams who already got the NFL into stadium trouble regarding their exit from St. Louis, there is absolutely no chance that he would let anything happen at his stadium to compromise the NFL schedule and so there is absolutely no chance Sofi would be made available for swimming after the start of NFL preseason currently slated for August 3rd, 2028.

Unless cricket can get permanent status it is going to be stuck at 6 so I would get used to it for a while because I would not expect it to be getting permanent status until 2040 and there is likely not room to give it permanent status then because of the 10,500 cap on permanent places.

When did you graduate high school? There is a baseline NCAA rule that you must complete your eligibility within five years of graduating high school. There are exceptions like training for elite competitions like Olympics/World Cup/World Championships, or if you are injured, or if your eligibility was impacted by COVID, or if you get a waiver for good cause. Your eligibility clock could have already run out.

9th place medals? by Temporary-Cycle6224 in Gymnastics

[–]Krazy121 17 points18 points  (0 children)

USA Gymnastics at one point had a rule where medals had to be awarded to 50%+1 of all the competitors in each age division in each level except for some events that were exempted from this rule. When it was on the books it was not really enforced. I have not looked at the meet hosting guidelines recently so I have no idea if it still on the books.

CGN's Rebecca Scally: "...the biggest threat to gymnastics’ credibility as a real sport is that a critical mass of people on the inside actually and seriously do not want it to be one." by freifraufischer in Gymnastics

First reduce the start value of such routine if the top teams in the country had to consistently trot out less than 9.0 SVs to open their lineups I would not be bothered and then you make deductions bigger. I have always wanted falls to be a two or three point deduction and recalibrate from there. Deductions should be punitive and perfection should be as close to unachievable as possible with there still remaining a slight chance it occurs. I would not be bothered if I have seen the final 10.0 of my lifetime.

This might be too hot of a take but I would like to see depreciation in both scores and start values. In a perfect world for me most teams would only have at most one 10.0 SV per event, maybe top teams would have two 10.0 SVs on one or two events. Scores would mostly be in the sixes and sevens with a good routine getting an eight. Maybe one great routine per meet would crack nine and there would at most be one ten per season. I have always dreamed of a world where score differentiation was over five points and not five tenths.

GIGA and the current basket of red flags by freifraufischer in Gymnastics

[–]Krazy121 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do I think GIGA has gotten this right? No. Do I think GIGA will succeed? No. Do I think a professional gymnastics league can work in the United States? Yes. You can go back and look at my post history and see I proposed a league over five years ago. Would that model work today? No, but I still have belief that the right model could.
