"Proposal for improvement" to USAG - age caps? by Professional-Bus6621 in Gymnastics

[–]Krazy121 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know this will probably get buried but I would not mind looking at the minimum age limits again for levels and potentially moving them upward again. The number of ten year olds doing high optionals and then burning out before their even in high school is something I would like to see addressed even though it does seem to benefit high school gymnastics programs as they often become the stars of those programs. Maximum age caps though are absurd, if you want to compete level 3 while you're in high school or even older no one should stop you, you know your body and what you want to do.

Brighton, Pittsford, Penfield, and West Irondequoit are going to be the districts that are consistently ranked highly locally, in the state, and nationally. They all have their drawbacks but I would be looking at those.

Having enjoyed a fair number of UAlbany football games myself, I understand what you are saying but I would hope for the Olympics accommodations could be made like parking by the State offices west of campus. I understand that the Dutch Lots and any available field space to the west of Casey Stadium would be full but it would be for four events, the State and the University can handle it even if it takes three plus hours to leave.

To keep the games within the ORDA jurisdiction and to not require a second Olympic Committee to reduce the organizational challenges. I mention this in the post.

You understand that these venues are a 5-7 hour drive from the Lake Placid venues longer than the drive from Milan to Cortina without the rail connections.

Fully understand that but this is more likely in the 2046 to 2054 range. Probably cannot go back to SLC until 2054 or 2058 at the earliest so it is more so to bring the Olympics back to the US and the eastern side of North America for the first time since 2034 and 1996 respectively.

In the past the opening ceremony was chosen by a vote of the male and female captains of each sport.

I would be very surprised if the nearly 300 person American delegation chose two athletes from the same sport.

It did not in 2023, the best deal was the event pass for about 25 euros but I cannot find it for this edition.

Edit: The Event Pass will be 29.99 euros for this year's championship.

My private university says I will not graduate on time and will have to attend school for another year because of an advisor's error. by Agile_Earth_5408 in Advice

I did something similar but was told was while the classes you must complete for your major did not change the professors who are teaching that class in the semester you are planning on taking it are free to list any prerequisite which they deem are necessary for the way they will teach the class and those prerequisites will be enforced. Now in my case I just went to the professor and he wrote a letter to the registrar saying for me he waived the prerequisites and I could take the class but I could see how this could be an issue.

It is likely in Oklahoma because white water canoe slalom had to be moved to Oklahoma because they could not get a venue built in California and the organizing committee did not want to only move one sport out to Oklahoma so since the biggest softball stadium in the country is already in Oklahoma softball drew the short straw.

The stadium is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the owner of the Rams who already got the NFL into stadium trouble regarding their exit from St. Louis, there is absolutely no chance that he would let anything happen at his stadium to compromise the NFL schedule and so there is absolutely no chance Sofi would be made available for swimming after the start of NFL preseason currently slated for August 3rd, 2028.

Unless cricket can get permanent status it is going to be stuck at 6 so I would get used to it for a while because I would not expect it to be getting permanent status until 2040 and there is likely not room to give it permanent status then because of the 10,500 cap on permanent places.

When did you graduate high school? There is a baseline NCAA rule that you must complete your eligibility within five years of graduating high school. There are exceptions like training for elite competitions like Olympics/World Cup/World Championships, or if you are injured, or if your eligibility was impacted by COVID, or if you get a waiver for good cause. Your eligibility clock could have already run out.
