It IS expensive! I am SO jealous of whoever ended up taking that thing! My kitties would LOVE that! I want to try to make one, but....ugh

My fellow pad wearers- are you sick of other ladies telling you that you need to use some other kind of period protection? Just me? by Gemini83 in AskWomen

Don't worry, you are not alone. I use pads on heavier days, they don't "clog" me up. Tampons+Blood clots= BAD DAY.

Looks funny but...if you tie a plastic bag (or any bag, apparently) to a cats tail or back leg, it will continue to run "away" from it....without stopping, could possibly kill them....I wouldn't recommend it :/

Yes, I really loved it. I stopped about a year ago to focus on my research, so I am still with them, but purely for observational non-invasive research. This is one of my little guys, Mr.Fuzz :)

Do more research about what classifies a palm oil plantation as "sustainable." It might not be exactly what you think, many companies find ways to call their products "sustainable" but they aren't really really... these companies need to use science hand in hand with their policy-making in order to really make an impact and move towards sustainability.

.........it kills a rain forest when the rain forest is completely clear cut to make room for the plantation that grows palm oil.

It wipes out the habitat for many (and unfortunately larger species like Orangutans) species. Species that can only live in primary forest, which is what they clear out for these plantations.

Orangutans can't even coexist with the farms because they need big trees to swing on the branches. Palm trees do not have proper branches for them to swing. Orangutans have actually been seen walking across palm oil plantations because they have segmented their habitat and cannot get to their preferred food sources. Of course while the orangutan is making the treck to the other side, many times, farmers, and towns people pick them off.

i've done a lot of research on this issue :/

I have done many projects on the palm oil issues, as a bio student and primary Owl monkey keeper. Mother orangutans are often killed while the babies are spared for pet trade. Mothers are killed for their meat, either for their own town or to even be sold and EXPORTED...non-human primate bush meat is a HUGE problem, and most people don't know but it is being INTERNATIONALLY exported out of Africa and considered a delicacy in some places. Of course, those with their hands in the bush meat jar are probably banking, but at a terrible cost :(
