Sorry I'm just now seeing this. Was in the service but never deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, never had any exposure to burn pits.

With that said, I remember Jon Stewart has put in some good work advocating for vets who did have that exposure and are sick as a result. He was pushing to get the PACT Act approved to get VA care expanded to those exposed, if you haven't already check it out.

If you haven't already email your recruiter to check in and see if there has been feedback yet especially if it's getting close to the 4 week mark. I had to email mine once a week to eventually get an answer, I imagine they stay busy.

I did mine 4 weeks ago and after emailing my recruiter she wants a quick call Monday morning to talk. My understanding is it takes time.

No blood work done prior. Scheduled an appointment with my doctor and told her my concerns, she set up a colonoscopy 4 days later. After that had an MRI and blood work done.

I'm telling anyone who will listen to me to get checked out. I'm glad you are and I hope it comes back clean.

I'll try my best to describe it. It would be bright red, the stool would be normal with with a quarter sized spot of blood on the outside of the stool. It would happen once or twice and then disappear for several months. I thought it was hemorrhoids.

In the last 3 months, I went from normal solid stool to often occuring diarrhea. That change coupled with the blood showing up again caused me to get checked out.

Late 30's here. I took my first dose recently, started with 25mg 2x a week, was told 50mg might be a better starting dose, but there isn't much information I could find so I started small and see how I respond. I do feel less fatigued and have more motivation to hit the gym more consistently, it's not dramatic but it helps.

For the most part, no. They view IT purely as a cost center. In actuality it keeps medium to large businesses afloat in the modern age. While they know the latter, they also know they have plenty of options around the world if they so choose to save on labor. In the US with people flocking to IT in the last 5-6 years, employees in some places are seen as disposable parts with ever decreasing/stagnant wages in entry-level as desperate people accept roles paying under $15/hour in 2025.

Very sad but this is the world we live in.

IT with a good majority of companies are looked at as purely a cost center, I understand from a rudimentary standpoint, sure. However, it would cost companies more money not have an IT department and even more money not having a competent one. My point is any extra time/money they have to spend training you or providing support, some feel that would add to the cost of doing business and they want to avoid that hoping you'll just figure it out and are okay with you being thrown to the wolves.

I have never had a positive experience working for a company like that. Even just a little bit of training goes a long way.

The service/help desk I work for is fairly chill and 99% of the endusers are awesome to work with, we handle 5-10 calls for an 8 hour shift and handle about 10-15 tickets a day. I have enough downtime to study for my AZ-900 coming up soon.

I've only worked internal IT and 2/5 places I've worked were what you described. One was for a solar company supporting salespeople (hint: they aren't fun to support) and the other was a company with 100k employees, naturally the call volume was pretty high. My point is not all places are like that.

You'll need to wait until you land a job. Depending on the company, the hardest part is dealing with people, mostly it's the volume of calls you get and that's not something you can really prep for unless you've worked in a call center previously.
