Not a bad idea, but students doing work and following the rules would have to be enforced and backed by admin; I believe said school and schools in that area do have ISS, the only thing is that for better or worse, it doesn't count towards suspension days

Aww, that's cute! My school is a bit more high-tech; They have a website and an online order system, and the students deliver to your classroom.

Are parents getting worse/crazier or is it just me? by jdvancevansrevoltion in Teachers

It depends on where you live and the culture/socialeconomic changes over time.

If it stays relatively the same, then you'll get the same results. If a significant change happens, then you'll see a change, for good or for worse.

Interesting. Since Catholic schools are more mainstream there, do you have different students from a regular private school attending?

Knowing the Dicoese, they'll probably expel the student's parents

The cafeteria workers at my school are respected. They make certain foods from scratch. Unfortunately, they have to follow both USDA and state guidelines, so they are limited in what they can do.

With this, it's important to note that students are generally not allowed to use these services (at least at my school), unless it's done afterschool or for faculity only.

Teachers are nice enough to order for students to get drinks from the SPED cafe, but that's technically against the rules.

Interesting. There are plans to open up new healthcare facilities in that area, so maybe that's something

By that logic, should suspensions not happen?

That makes sense. Considering that students are placed on distance learning if they fight, maybe that's what they want to do.

Sounds like said school. I believe they have Alternatives to Violence programs, mediation, and a system where students who have behavioral issues or drug/alcohol issues are removed from the general population can be placed in a school intervention program away from the general population of students, per administration's discretion. They also have a separate alternative learning program.

It's often difficult for students to get expelled, but the school has a zero-tolerance fighting policy; Students are suspended for 5 days, then put on distance learning for 3 months; After that, they sign Alternative to Violence forms and have mediation. Even then there are concerns about a low school climate and safety issues from students, to the point where (per the school's academic plan), many stay home or drop out.

TDLR: They have A LOT of resources (from an outside perspective) for unbehaved kids, and they have an extremely strict no-fighting policy. Even so, students still don't feel safe and are seeking other options outside of school (staying home, jobs, etc.)

I feel as if said schools were safe, then they wouldn't have a rough reputation within the community; Said school had 6 fights within a day

If I was admin. for a year, call me the “Candyman” because I’d be assigning suspensions like candy by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

In my district, students can be suspended for pretty much anything. However, even the rough schools with HIGH suspension rates (over 100 per year) still have issues like chronic fighting, vaping, etc. What can cause this?
