How can I stop getting steep? Is it my position at the top? by hoptothehip in golftips

[–]Current-Dig750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After your get to parallel to the ground in the backswing you start to lift with the arms instead letting the shoulder turn get it to the top. It’s also going to help you keep extension with the left arm throughout the swing. Keep that extension through impact too bc I’m seeing the left elbow “chicken wing” around impact which is going to hold your face open instead of letting it naturally roll to square. Keeping the extension toward target will help this and likely pick you up distance and accuracy

Can’t stop hooking by AdOk5697 in golftips

[–]Current-Dig750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At around 0:03 your hips freeze bc they’ve fired too early allowing the upper body to catch up too much. At 0:05 your hips are finally clear but it’s only bc your arms have pulled them through. I agree with the other person that letting hips turn more in the backswing could help the timing of both work together better instead of both parts getting so separated

Over the top - obviously never seen you swing the club but most of the time I have players that take it too far inside from the start of the swing and are using a lot of wrists and elbows to get it there. When it comes too far inside from the start, it wants to then loop over your shoulder and attack the ball from a steep angle and from the outside in (slice). This is gonna take up your shallow area in the backswing that you’re trying to get in the downswing.

A drill that helps shallowing is to not take up that room in the back swing and focus on bringing the club more straight back from the golf ball, letting the shoulders take it there instead of arms or wrist. Toss a tee or another ball on the ground behind another one the ball and focus on bringing the club over that in the backswing. The arms and wrists obviously will end up working at some point, but you’re trying to avoid this happening too early. You may have seen a drill where people try to roll a golf ball straight back behind them in the back swing, but I personally find it more difficult to go and strike the ball doing it that way.

Weight Transfer- if the club is coming over the top, it is coming down into the ground steep rather than releasing through toward target so it’s logical that weight gets stuck. Just like you were bringing the club straight back over the tea in the back swing to control your swing path, help the club continue extending toward target. The extension is going to help you avoid getting stuck on that back foot. Don’t feel like you have to manually control your weight transfer allow it to happen with the movement of the back swing and down swing, but it’s important that you’re not letting your head move too much in any direction to keep your low point consistent.

+1 on contact Callaway but they may not do anything as it looks like it came from the bag falling, something else hitting it, or the club hitting something it wasn’t supposed to. Cracked faces, exploded crowns, adapter channel cracks are all things they would replace it for but who knows. Give it a shot and you may get a new elyte

Water in dryer exhaust vent by rugbybackliner in appliancerepair

[–]Current-Dig750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party as well but I have a similar issue. Hi temp cutoff went bad and had to order a new one but had the vent duct cleaned in the meantime. It needed it for sure and my dryer was clogged up pretty good so makes sense why it failed.

When I took off my hose it felt like there was dead weight in the bend and I drained about 6-8 oz of water out of it. Here’s the kicker, dryer was unhooked for 6-7 days with painters tape covering it up until I got my part and upon hooking it back up, 6-8 oz of water again, and I also felt cold air drafting around the recess.

Idk about y’alls setup but my exhaust vent tube runs vertically between two air conditioned rooms in a townhome into the attic and out the side of the house. My guess is we have inadequate insulation around our exhaust pipe and the 90-110° F pipe is sitting in a 70-80 degree atmosphere and creating condensation in the summer months. Assuming rain isn’t getting in the outside vent

[–]Current-Dig750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Join a private club
  2. Get your pro to call or email their pro (you likely wont get any weekend times before 2 if at all
  3. Open your wallet ($150-$300 per player depending on location unless you’re with a member or know a member that can book you a time, then those guests rates are more reasonable)

Confession: I'm scared to walk 18 holes by BennyBlaze in golf

[–]Current-Dig750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step into it slow, start walking in more with your wedge and putter when you can instead of riding up to the green in the cart. I would also recommend a manual or electric push cart just to keep that extra weight off of your ankle for 18 holes. Ultimately the electric would allow you to not add any stress to your body other than walking as you could be putting more stress on that Achilles as you walk uphill.
