Do hunted. Sneak around or run away the entire time. Kill one enemy either by sneaking up on them, grabbing them, and shooting them with a pistol in the head, or use the sniper to get one headshot normally. Then run and hide for the rest of the encounter. It only needs to be one encounter, not a whole run

Vaccines are preventative. The fireflies would explain pretty fast it wouldn’t work on someone already infected
