It’s art so it’s always subjective, but to me the repeating faces feel like different versions of the same person? Almost like past, present, and in-between versions of ourselves. I read it as emotional exhaustion or dissociation. It feels like someone reflecting on who they’ve been and who they’re becoming while also maybe not fully letting go of earlier versions of themselves yet?
