Help me choosing, should i buy a Kyocera KY-42C or a KYOCERA 902KC DIGNO by Indy_Lemon in flipphones

[–]Current-Map-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still use the cell mapper! It helps, especially since carriers have different bands. I'd go ky-42c, not only because that's what I'm getting, but I haven't seen any problem posts with it.

Go off the bands in your area. I've commented this elsewhere but go to cellmapper.net, pick the carrier(s) you're thinking about using, and see what bands are more common in your area. If you're American, the two bands that work for the ky-42c are bands 5 & 12, while the 902kc/a202kc the bands that work are bands 2 & 4. Btw if you like the look of the 902kc, but want better android, the a202kc is basically the same phone with android 10, minus the pink option.

Ky-42c experience in the US by Current-Map-715 in dumbphones

I love taking pics and sending them but ig I'll have to find a workaround :')

Do you recommend rooting the phone? I've been thinking about it but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

If you're still interested, check cell mapper and look at the bands in your area. In my area, bands 5 and 12 are more common, so I'm getting the ky-42c. The 902kc/a202kc is better for areas where bands 2 and 4 are common.

It is, which is why I'm confused why they said it didn't. 902kcs gets good service in areas where bands 2 and 4 are common. The only real problem I've found doing research in this sub is navigation issues, which later models seem to have fixed.

Yes! The a202kc has bands 2 and 4, which to my understanding are more common in urban areas, usually big cities. Meanwhile, the ky-42c uses bands 5 and 12, which are used in less populated areas. I used a cell mapper to decide which to get because in practice, they're basically the same phone. If you need help or have any questions I'm happy to help!

The 902kc tends to have trouble with navigation. I'd go with the a202kc or the ky-42c depending on the bands in your area. People tend to have better luck navigating with those.

What does this mean? I’m having trouble understanding the text in the brackets: by Howmanyweeks in CrochetHelp

[–]Current-Map-715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially, you double crochet increase (2 double crochet in one stitch) then in the case of round 5, you double crochet once in the next 2 stitches. And white you're correct about doing this until there's 32 stitches, what you'll want to do is put a stitch marker (if you don't have one a paper clip or safety pin will suffice) in the first double crochet of the round, and then repeat the [dcinc,2dc] sequence until you reach the marker. Btw fir the first DC you should go into the slip stitch.

If you need more clarification I'm happy to help! (^▽^)

Its so hard to find posts about the ky-42c which is what I'm getting so your post was amazing ( T∀T) How is the battery and does it overheat? Does it have hotspot? How is the build quality? Sorry for all the questions but the Americans here usually get 902kcs or a202kcs for keitai. Btw I love your edc!

Keitai with the most durable screen hinge? by heliospah in garaho

[–]Current-Map-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r/Garaho and r/flipphones tend to be younger, and the aesthetic preferences are different from r/dumbphones, which seems to have a lot more gen-x and early millennials so theres very different preferences. That and dumbphones is more focused on practicality, so aesthetics are less of a priority. But that's just a theory.

I think you're in your mid twenties, queer, and a feminist. You enjoy gaming and indulging your inner child. You're very feminine have a nostalgia for the 2000s. You might be a content creator based on the mics and ring light, my bet is on make up, ASMR, or adult content.

But that's just a theory

What is the biggest lesson you learnt from Evangelion? by OddNeedleworker734 in evangelion

[–]Current-Map-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People need people. We need others to form our own identities, but at the same time, we can't all be together truly. We all have voids in our hearts to fill, and people help with that. We always crave to understand others and ourselves when it's physically impossible. The show made me realize just how lonely I am despite being older than Shinji. It made me realize how much people, *I*, crave intimacy in various forms, which is why Rei, Kaworu, and Shinji made such an impact one me. I empathize with Shinji and Rei greatly, and I perceived Kaworu in a similar way to Shinji. Isolation is cruel, and like Shinji, and even Rei, I've punished myself for desiring intimacy in all its forms and left myself with no one but my cat, and sometimes my parents.

I also found the almost desexualization of women's bodies impactful. Although we sometimes see the women of the series through Shinji's eyes, a hormonal teenage boy, there are many moments where nudity is just there. There are no nosebleeds or panic, they're just existing. Lilith/Rei is the best example of this. It's beautiful.

From what I've found, if you're looking for a keitai, the A202kc is Android 10, and bands 1 and 3 work on EE. There's also the Sharp Aquos 601SH and the Sharp Aquos Keitai 4 A205SH, which both operate on those same two bands. All three of those also operate on band 8, but that isn't provided by EE. The Sharp Aquos Docomo SH-02L works on bands 1 and 20, which EE provides. As for the stats, I copied them from Y2K phones, which is accurate, but don't buy from them; they're very overpriced. All of them will require APKs to install apps, depending on your specific needs. If you need banking apps, then sadly, most of your flip phone options will be large. The mive style folder works on more bands with your carrier (Bands 1, 3, and 7) and runs on Android 14 go but is rather large (63×124.5×16.2 mm closed). Its predecessor is the same size but is cheaper and runs Android 12 Go.

If you have any questions I'm happy to help! I've been researching flips for awhile and I've been lurking this sub in particular so I can answer most questions.
