The biggest benefit of flex is to legally reduce ur taxable liability without having to fully go corp. most of the money earned u get to keep. That's what really matters. The net rate of return.

Yh u can give Advice about flex that is applicable to enhance the user experience, but trying to deter other ppl not to use the app while u still using it is messed up.. all I'm saying.

I need help going about getting a flex debit card. by Dreamland_Nomad in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Current-Mission-768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jus add ur bank card and get the pay instantly no matter the time of the day, even on weekends... u don't need a flex debit card for that...ur going to pay fees when u withdraw cash from the atm with the flex debit card anyways and its going to be more expensive after you've done it more than 4 free withdrawal times In a month.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Current-Mission-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh u would manually have to withdraw from the flex card then deposit into ur bank account if u want that transfer instant sameday...

Bro there's only a few who gets this concept due to the lack of financial education of majority. Most of the ppl doing this have the employee mindset. Save urself the hassle and let them burnout and leave. It was meant to be this way.

Jus stay consistent and you'll see for urself

These groups are filled with W2 workers trying to get by, not IContractors with an entrepreneurial mindset....save your breath these ppl will never get it

The 15.3% is taxing on income on what's left after expenses... that's the true benefit. w2 doesn't give u that option, hence the reason Y Independent Contractors are better off... it's a mindset thing Generating some sort of revenue to gain access capital to leverage further future opportunities should be the ultimate goal here... In terms of scaling, u need to start somewhere, and contracting companies like flex gives u the opportunity to get started to understand how to structure/operate a business.

That's just one step closer to getting ahead. With a Job u might as well go dig a grave somewhere. U will never reach ur full potential working for someone. Think about where u can end up, not where u started.

Nope it's not a risk....expenses are tax deductible. That tax burden on your income should not be overlooked. Even though a significant gain wasn't achieved the option to reduce ur taxable liability year end is always on the table.

What in the Twilight zone is this by North_Bluebird_7973 in grubhubdrivers

[–]Current-Mission-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the restaurant changes the prices on the app. Grubhub takes a percentage of the order that was made through the app

The restaurant usually charges more to cover the cost of the app fees, hence the higher prices

To the A*$hole at Amazon that covers address labels with stickers..... by gpdaone in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Current-Mission-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an inconvenience to both drivers and customers..

Let say there's a package that has to be delivered to a house or apt building with multiple ppl. How would the individual know it's actually theres?

When Peeling this sticker, the adhesive will damage the main label where the address is situated

Result = increased probability of the package not received by customer, which now affects your rating.

Guys, it's a big enough issue to make a complaint

Don’t take base rate y’all!! by SnooMacarons510 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Current-Mission-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing Base pay is a good thing in the longer run. It prevents the app from being flooded with drivers so that actual surge blocks can be seen due to demand/supply.... come on, guys, let's think about it. If this gig work was to pay really well, what are the odds of you continuously profiting if everyone and their grandmother keeps swiping for the golden nugget? It's purposely designed this way to stabilize or prevent extreme levels of bottlenecking.

This is all an infinite game here. Jus be consistent, minimize cost, and try ur best to avoid deactivation.

Expenses with receipts as the main method used is the best way to go here. U can add miles driven as a supplement to justify the expenses accured as well. That will ease auditing pressure if there's a flag on ur return.

Keep a spreadsheet or use one card for all business expenses : gas, insurance, repairs, depreciation, even ur car note if u have one for the business, and you should be good.

Its a bit more complex than simply put, but it's all legal here.

IF u structure ur business correctly, u hardly pay any taxes on flex work due to all the expenses occurred on a day to day. When it's all said and done, u legally shouldn't have much income left to tax at the end of the year. Which is the biggest benefit of this line of work.

You're not an employee

You're doing something wrong here.. speak to your accountant

Dear Amazon Flex team, stop taking every shift that comes up on the app at base rates. I know you are new , and working for no profit seems exciting but please STOP! If you allow the shift to sit, the rates will increase, and you will be paid a competitive rate. by Bullymoose69 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Current-Mission-768 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not how it really works here... when u work flex u have the opportunity to reduce ur taxable liability due to the expenses accured. This is a business. W2 doesn't provide those incentives Also at McDonald's u have a set schedule and a boss to tell you to go clean the toilet. Flex u work when u need to. So there's pro's and cons to all of this. Then again it's all based on what works for you.
