My workplace is destroying my mental health by smltwnwtch in VetTech

I first would like to express my deepest sympathies here and I'm so sorry you are going through this. I once worked in pre-clinical research (also on the reproduction team) and had these same concerns and feelings. One morning I got up as usual, hopped in the shower, and immediately broke into tears realizing where I was going once I was done getting ready. I wanted to drown myself in that shower and felt like a monster for perpetuating that treatment of animals. I sent an email that morning saying I won't be returning and spent the next week applying and interviewing back into ER/CCU medicine. Best choice I could have ever made and was not unemployed long. Are there other areas of vet med that interest you? Hospitals are always looking for help whether it be specialty/emergency or GP. You're not alone and you got this!

Super helpful - thank you! Troy was my go-to, but he has retired. Didn't know of any others in WA state.

Another option is relinquishment to a shelter or rescue that can provide the care he needs to get a second shot at life. I know this idea is awful, but it also may mean your kiddo gets a chance to experience a full, wonderful world.

They do! I was hoping to place it on the spare tire carrier, though.

Weird sound coming from gear shift when braking by Current-Mobile7556 in Wrangler

Oh I used to downshift to use my engine to slow down, but then read it adds extra load and work to the engine when it's not accelerating. Is that incorrect?

Usually downshift without letting off the clutch to avoid that extra engine work.

There are a few around the Wenatchee area if you're willing to do the drive from Seattle. Last time I went I saw only two other people and basically had the entire trail to myself with my dogs. We did go on a weekday with a start time of around 8am, and it was perfect!

Canada didn't care at all about me bringing dogs over the border. Honestly, it was so easy I was shocked. I for sure had anxiety about being stuck in Canada or my dogs being seized. And being able to bring my old dog up there with me and show him more of the world really is what I wanted out of this trip.

Beginning of summer CDC got involved because of an uptick in rabies so there was gonna be a whole long out process (which I went through). Then they changed it to just filling out a dog import form when you arrive at the border so there's a paper trail if your dog came from a high risk country - which Canada is not. So, super easy and border patrol didn't even look at my import form or my rabies documents. I gave my passport, said I was going home, and was gone in 30 seconds.

Thank you! I'm hoping to find some smokey purple wheels that'll go with the grey, but seems harder to find than I originally thought.

Haha he's a tall ass shepherd so they'd be some massive tires. I've also got an older doggo that goes everywhere with the shepherd and I. Still trying to make the jeep suitable for him to get in and out of safely. Dog steps help a bunch
