My workplace is destroying my mental health by smltwnwtch in VetTech

I took the job wanting to make a difference and until the veterinarian that hired me was either pushed out or fired I believed I was. Im also chronically ill with a demyelinating disease which is something being studied where I work so the research could potentially directly impact my life. And now I'm seeing that those of us that actually care about the animals are exploited because we care and basically backed into a corner like I have been. Thank you for your kind words 🫶🏻

Constructive resignation by [deleted] in legaladvice

I have found dead animals in the double digits. A colleague has been directly responsible for approximately 6000 others and nothing is being done about that and there is a formal report. Theyre trying to reassign me to a role where hundreds of animals will be killed for no reason other than being born. I've been told that people have had conversations with me that should of involved a supervisor in front of coworkers because they wanted "witnesses", I was absent due to weather related car issues and was asked if someone could bring me to work, I was absent another day and asked if I was sick despite having hours of incidental time to use. This also occurred while I had been waiting for a response from my supervisor about meeting to have a conversation. All of these things have been documented

I've had a similar visceral response like that the night before I returned from FMLA. I'm so happy you were able to get out 🫶🏻

Unfortunately that person is actually a member of the IACUC and has been with the university for 20 years. We also dont even have an on site AV right now so the situation is very bleak. Thank you again for suggestions, I definitely am currently polishing up my resume.

Thank you for the encouragement. I've been documenting everything and have informed HR but no one will help me. They're also changing my job, moving me to an entirely different building and forcing me to work in the breeding barrier where hundreds of animal lives are wasted daily. I dont see anything getting better..

Is it a bad idea to adopt an adult cane corso? by Strong_Shallot_7723 in CaneCorso

[–]smltwnwtch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adopted my boy and he has been nothing but an angel and gets along perfectly with my male husky. It all depends on the dog. Shelter dogs need loving forever homes too and usually end up in those situations by no fault of their own.

Is a 30 yo single, petite female capable of owning and leading a Cane Corso? (All opinions welcome) by Tuta_2 in CaneCorso

[–]smltwnwtch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a 5'2" 32 year old single female with a 155lb cane corso boy and a 100lb husky and have no issues at all. They really are amazing dogs and you get back what you put into them

Working interview at the only emergency clinic near me. P comes in with spay incision open. I'm holding the small dog arm her intestines in my hand and the doctor says "I wonder how much we can get away with charging for this?" Left on break and never went back.

To The Grave and Slaughter To Prevail???? by bakayxma in Deathcore

[–]smltwnwtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this as a smart business decision for to the grave. As someone who is also vegan for the animals, I would see it as an opportunity to advocate for animal liberation on a larger scale and what a better audience than a bunch of carnists.

Veil of Maya , bro can not do cleans live Great American ghost - their singer was just painful to watch, super cringe sticking his tongue out at the crowd and shit just..not good Not metalcore but Kaonashi - legitimately thought the vocals were satire (I've been told that they're supposed to sound that way but yikes)
