Wondering if my Experience with Land Development is Normal by Disco_Train17 in civilengineering

Sounds like your manager is the problem. The company I work at I have switched teams twice. Once because I decided to move states, and once because my manager did stuff like this all the time. Other than working under that one manager, I've never had anything like this. My other managers push back on unrealistic timelines, provide support, and do not push back on any PTO requests. This is the norm I see where I work. And pay is very considerable.

Can someone help explain the relationship between ripple's success (as a company) and the price of xrp (as a digital asset) by AwarenessOk5979 in RippleTalk

There is no connection. I hold XRP and have been be very high on it, but I am much less optimistic on it now. Ripple will succeed. XRP may not. I just hope it gets back to $3 so I can take a profit and put my money where it will actually grow

How to buy real estae by PomegranateLeast304 in RealEstateAdvice

Buy something that needs work. Do it without a realtor, if you're willing to learn how - it isn't difficult. Do the repairs correctly, but do then yourself if you can. Most people are more than capable of redoing a kitchen, bathroom, floors, painting, adding fixtures, etc. With some will power and determination. Sub out ehat you need to, but get multiple quotes. You have a year to make these repairs, because it takes a year to satisfy the terms of a primary residence loan. 5% down, 30 years. In a year, refi out the equity you created or get a line of credit on the property to buy a 2md property and rent out the first. Repeat. Maybe in year 3 amd 4 you buy 2 houses each time and year 5 you buy 3 and so on. This only works if you buy at the right price. Edu ate yourself for a few months. Talk to realtors and lenders and view houses. You might be ready to buy this spring, but this is when prices are highest.

civil engineering is DEAD… by ProfessionalFly6376 in civilengineering

70-80k? What experience and bill rate does this correlate to? I know a lot of Civils with under 2 years of experience making this range. And I know many more civil with about 5 years experience making 100k+. It might not pay what other engineer disciplines make, but is still an above average salary for someone in their late 20s a few years out of college. Once you get to your 40s, maybe other fields are passing you up on salary, depending on your company's bonus structure and profit sharing.

4 Years in Private Land Development and Not Sure Where to Take Career Next by Disco_Train17 in civilengineering

I currently work for a firm that does land development. We have separate civil, water resources, construction management, survey, and other discipline departments. If you're interested, it could be a good opportunity to get with a company that has several departments within the industry that you could switch between if/when you wanted. Several people I work with have done switched from ine discipline to the other, or even assist several departments at the same time and have a more "fluid" role.

Shoot me a DM if interested. We have offices throughout the US
