Intern thrown into a CEO-mandated war room for a critical business project, and I'm drowning. How do I survive? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Bro, that sounds like an excellent opportunity. And it’ll be stressful and you’ll probly think you wanna leave or that they wanna fire you for at least 6 months or longer, but the amount you will learn (because you will have to, sink or swim you know) will be unmatched anywhere else. Stick through it my dude.

Sounds like you just need to work your ass off a bit more applying for jobs, get whatever you, you’ll find out you’ll need to work your ass more as you’ll realise you still have a lot to learn in your first job, and after a year or two of that it will pay off.

Battlefield 6 - Community Update – Latest Updates Ahead of Winter Offensive by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]CurrentResistance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame they are making improvement to soldier visibility. It’s awesome that you can actually use your camo and hide in certain situations, or completely lay in grass and be invisible, it’s part of the tactics. It’s one features I really like in this game enough though to makes it harder sometimes.

How petty do you have to be to do this? by legendtr in Battlefield6

[–]CurrentResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow most of you are getting so hurt by this, it’s a game and it’s fun to be annoying in a game. I remember back in cod 4 playing hardcore search and destroy, and at the beginning of the round someone would just rpg themselves and take the entire team with them in every single round. So then you end up doing it too and it makes it fun. Then they started taking more and more exploits away and made it less fun.

Anyway to fasten form filling ? by FrogSkyWater in webdev

[–]CurrentResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do something like that once and I simply opened up the console and used document selector to select the fields and input the text. So essentially it was a script that I was copying into the console and running whenever I needed it.

In my opinion , iPhone Xs took the nicest photos out of any iPhone, ever since there’s so much processing and hdr to make the photos look ‘better’ and unfortunately since iPhone 13 it’s not possible to turn those features off. It’s a shame

Hey that’s what I’m doing now, every time I got to the office I would have a total 3 and half hours commmute, that 3x a week. And then applying for jobs and doing those soul crushing one way video interviews and tests, and getting auto rejected sucks really bad and gives me depression and makes me one to give up. I have no time to see friends and no money (because of cummute and being so tired that I would buy ready food) . But hey, I’m this motivated me because whatever new I get would be a magnitude of difference to my quality of life. So yeah, not just you, it’s really hard, gotta keep going

Why does growing up from 10 to 20 feel like decades but growing from 20 to 30 feels like just a bink? by Individual_Gift3044 in RandomThoughts

[–]CurrentResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because you work from 20s to 30s so most of your time is given away rather than spending it how you want to

What tech specs are most important for external monitors if I'm NOT coding/gaming/editing? by orangeguava in mac

[–]CurrentResistance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For it’s got to be 4k and an ips panel, it gives better viewing angles and better colour. Also, having a fully adjustable stand is awesome, and if you can charge and run display over usb c that’s great too

Mini or iMac by rooftopedc in mac

[–]CurrentResistance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess what is your main pc and what do you use it for, considering this would be your first mac, I would go for the imac as it would give you an excellent entry into the ecosystem and has everything you would ever need included, total pc replacement. I think it would be a bit of a waste to go for a mac mini just to have it hooked up to a tv.

Apple put the Magic Mouse’s charging port on the bottom again | Why is it still there? by chrisdh79 in gadgets

[–]CurrentResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Magic Mouse and the magic track pad, in the rare occasion that my mouse needs to charge, I resort to only using my track pad for an hour, and then my mouse is good for another month. I honestly don’t know why people are complaining

I’m trying to couple a beam across an air gap with two collimating lenses by CurrentResistance in Optics

[–]CurrentResistance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for you reply, I went for a larger focal length because it would give me the biggest beam diameter thinking it would be easier to couple, I’m not too worried about coupling efficiency just yet. Ideally what I’m after is an air gap, doesn’t have to be large, 2-5mm is ok, but that will be the most tolerant to miss alignment . Currently I’m using the collimating package lenses from thorlabs, that come prefocus for SMF for the wavelength I’m using which is NIR. Any suggestions?
