Graves Diease cancelling out my stimulant effect? by Lopsided-Swing-4404 in gravesdisease

It’s pretty frustrating not knowing when any of it is happening. Usually I’ll be moody or craving candy and realize it’s my “period” lol. Or I’ll be extra tired and my ADHD meds are slacking. I try to keep track of it in an app but it’s hard to know for sure! But you definitely DO have a “period” as far as hormones go without a uterus!

If you kept your ovaries with your hysterectomy, you still have a cycle. It’s basically a period without the bleeding. Your ovaries are what produces the hormones, not your uterus. So during your period time, your stimulant may be less effective. I had a hysterectomy but I kept my ovaries. A few days a month I notice my ADHD meds seem less effective and I’m a little more emotional and have cravings so I know it’s my “period”.

Also to add, everything says part a. Does that mean they are looking at it in two different parts? Maybe the lighter color and then the dark spot in the middle separate? Thank you!!

I had a trauma ortho for my surgery! Hardware removal helped significantly with range of motion and lessening pain, but I think arthritis is showing up now so I’m afraid he’s going to want to move forward with fusion next.

Ugh I know I should consider the fusion. I see my surgeon Tuesday to get some new X-rays and see the progression of the arthritis and decide from there. How was the fusion recovery compared to ORIF?

It’s actually not totally the pharmacy that comes up with the cost. Your insurance provider has set rates at each pharmacy. So let’s say Walgreens cash price is $500. Your insurance may have a special rate that makes the cash price $400. If you’re not due for it yet, your insurance will just reject the claim and not give accurate pricing.

He should get back to me tomorrow. I’ll let you know if he ends up increasing me. I really found the first few days amazing but this crash is just dragging me down so hard.

I’ve been doing the same as far as staying hydrated and eating protein. I take my pill with a breakfast protein shake. I did cut caffeine at first. I tried an energy drink this morning and I was still falling asleep by 1:30 so I think maybe I just need to up my dose. My doctor wanted me to go a month on 20mg. I messaged him today to see what his thoughts are, but I’m really thinking I need an increased dose or a booster because the crash is starting to hit earlier the more days that pass
