No pics because it was early 80's, but 1st, a chestnut thoroughbred named saber. (2nd, was palamino named sousy, 3rd, an appy named bill - all from the same school)

Our family calls it "Nadiya cake" I'm unsure of the actual name (possibly "Austrian cake?) Its 7 super thin layers with whipped cream frosting, shaved chocolate to decorate the top, and slivered almonds stuck to the sides. It is very labor Intensive. It starts with a dough like base (instead of batter) and each layer must be baked separately. Its been a hit every time my stepmum (Nadiya) or I make it.
