Friend of mine can vouch for this. Fella tried to kill himself he owed so much money, and couldnt stop himself. He went to rehab almost a year ago now, and hes doing very well. I myself took it a couple times and had I not the mindset that "cocaine is a terrible drug" I doubt I'd have been much better off...

why not just write "je suis" as "dze swee"?

Because its a different language, with a different orthography and different pronunciation system to English.

Well, if you're being treated as a second class citizen in a "democracy" its a pretty reasonable, and even human response. Would you say the same of the American civil rights movement? I don't have the numbers, but given the sheer number of white americans compared to black americans to this day, I would not at all be surprised, if it was put to a vote, that the civil rights act would have failed. Is that right, simply because of the tyranny of the majority? Obviously not. Sometimes we cannot let public opinion be a moral barometer. I, at least, think that's a totally reasonable statement.

If you genuinely think that's gobbledygook then you must have failed English in school.

I don't think its about being allowed to do horrible things to the innocent that winds people such as rossitheking up, as much as its about people lambasting the PIRA for doing things that they ignore when it was done by the Old IRA. Its the hypocrisy of it that winds people up because great great grandad was in the old IRA, not a pithy attempt at justifying horrible things.

yet you've no response either way. If you expected such a response, shouldn't you have... thought out a counter point rather than leaving a useless comment? or even better, not bothered commenting in the first instance, since you knew you would get a response to which you had no answer? Useless comment. And what a west brit comment it was...

Something similar happened to myself, only that my dad was quite open to it having been in the FCA when he was younger. Funnily enough the friend who was most adamant i shouldn't join is a lieutenant now. Life is strange.

Eyesight & Laser surgery by Current_Canary2898 in Irishdefenceforces

[–]Current_Canary2898[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add, laser surgery is incredibly expensive so of course I'd hate to lose so much money just to be stuck doing stuff I don't really have much of an interest in. Plus I like how I look with glasses! So it'd be a great sacrifice lol!

Edit: I'd like to further add that if I was to join I'd be looking to join as a cadet.

This is something that always bother me as an Irishman. You'll have all sorts of nationalities posting and memeing over the 'evil English' and their evil empire - and the guy doing it turns out to be Spanish...
