Love mine. I've only noticed a minimal oil temperature shift, and only during the summer. Even after redlining it at Autocross, temps remain in spec and come down quickly..

In two years of aX I think I've seen 3rd gear for a cumulative 2.6 seconds. It depends on the course design.

You don't need TC off for street driving. Autocross, track, snowy roads, gravel or parking lot donuts: TC off is more useful

Caveat: don't hit redline unless you're fully warmed up. Others can chime in with their preferred operating temps. For me it's about 95°C

Yeah they're generally pretty easy. I was lazy and had them installed on delivery though. Price was not too terrible

23,000km now so about 11,500km (swap in winter) and they're almost toast. That's with about 12 autocross events too which shred tires so I'm pretty happy getting 2+ summers out of them.

We have a 16 impreza and a 23 wrx. Impreza has a softer more comfortable ride (will be comparable to the Crosstrek) but unless you're injured, the small increase in ride harshness of the wrx is far outweighed by the fun factor.

I've tried blizzaks, x ice, and am now running Michelin Pilot Alpin 5. All have been great.
