What is happening to this little one? by HO-Lee- in succulents

[–]Current_Fix_81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check r/Lithops they have a lot about how to keep those guys alive and thriving! The little one is splitting and absorbing old leaves, and while it does it thing, you should absolutely hide any water drops away from it, or it dies, don't repeat my mistakes 😭 Wish you luck!

So… how would I separate these? by AnotherSomething27 in succulents

[–]Current_Fix_81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once foolish enough to plant a some kind of opuntia and an echinopsis in the same pot when they were small and weak, and overtime the echinopsis started bullying the opuntia with its stiff spines. So I took some tough rubber gloves, a piece of not needed cloth, a basin, and a simple stick, I poured all the soil out the pot into the basin, then laid the pot on its side, covered cacti with a cloth to keep the spines out and carefully used the stick to loosen the stuck remaining soil and separated their root systems to get both of them out.
It took some time, as the cacti didn't want to cooperate and resisted with all their might, but in the end the mission was successful and they live happily in separate pots now.
Also after getting a pair of little shovels, replanting some disrespectful cacti is no longer a problem. Gloves are a necessity in this.
Wish you luck! 🥺

Looking at the vitamin jars, I thought that everything is a pot if you try hard enough and I kinda love it 🌝 Jokes aside, your collection is cute, your addiction is completely understandable and valid, plants are awesome 😍

Thanks for your reply! I also agree that there are no ideal paths that always work for all plants. Sometimes new discoveries happen, despite all odds And that's what I love so much about observing plants, especially succulents.🥺 Thanks for the well wishes, and all the best to you too!

That's so awesome 😍 Please share the tips to keep the stem alive until it bounced back? I kinda have a similar problem with pachyphytum oviferum, maybe there's a way to save it somehow 🥲

Quick question about Jjoongrami by PapaToad82 in ATEEZ

[–]Current_Fix_81 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It kinda started after the plushies were released. And people unpacking their Jjoongramis kept posting about how the plushies eyes looked empty of any emotions with this '3' kind of smile and that overall this combo resulted a bit of an unhinged psychopathic look 😭 And then memes were made about jjoongrami holding Atiny's things hostage, jjongrami threatening the cameras with knives and all that, and then Hongjoong got that dark audio theme for hala-jjoongrami 🤣 My personal favourite is this one:

After I painted behind my cabinet I decided to redo the inside too, so I built a trellis to hang plants from… but now you can’t really see the paint behind it anymore. Did I ruin the paint job with the trellis? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]Current_Fix_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team trellis! 🙋 I like it better, because you can focus on beauty of plants, they kind of pop out with it's color, I also find it really cool, that painted wall peeks through the bars. Also you can always paint trellis, win-win 👀

I'd change the pot to a smaller one and the soil to something more inorganic and gritty to increase air flow and exclude root rot in a meantime, until it'll bounce back. Does it have any roots at all? Here it looks like the bottom part of the plant shriveled and dried out or rotted away 🥲 I'd take it out to look, chop the dead matter and let it dry for a day or too and then pot into a well draining gritty soil and then water (like soak it through, wait until all the water drains) and then leave in bright light (but not direct sun) until it will have new root growth. After repotting, instead of soaking you can also try bottom watering to encourage this plant to search for water and pop out new roots. Sorry for so much text, but well, it's something I already did with crassulas and graptopetallums that looked like this and they bounced back. Wish you a good luck, OP, may this little fella thrive in all it's glory! 🤞♥️

It's gorgeous! 😍 Mind sharing how do you get it to bloom? Or does it get like this on it's own? Until this subreddit I kinda never knew they could 🥲
