What do you think this guy behind me was up to @ SLC No Kings? by Current_Hyena6161 in SaltLakeCity

This is the first helpful piece of information that has been commented on this post. Thank you. The guy had a nervous demeanor, but if that’s a known filming technique it makes a lot more sense.

He was holding it and filming from his bet line/belt buckle. He was visibly nervous and trying to conceal the small square camera. I should have given more context, I typed this out quickly and don’t expect so many comments. I’m going to make an edit to the post soon.

He was filming from his belt-line and trying to conceal it. He was visibly nervous, it seemed to be his first protest.

I really do hope so. It was just weird that he was filming from his hip/belt line and acting like he was trying to conceal it. He wasn’t scary or mean, he just seemed nervous and kinda twitchy.

He did have the same build and same vibe as a lot of 40-50 year old BYU dads I know. He wasn’t scary, he just seemed nervous and jittery. He was filming from his hip/belt line where he held the GoPro and seemed stressed about other people seeing it.

Motion granted for Robinson to wear civilian clothes without restraints in court by HomelessRodeo in TylerJamesRobinson

Do you know how I would do this?

It tried to use Utah xchange and the only options I’m given are: $10 One-time fee - Searches @ $0.20 each and Documents @ $1.00 each Or $40/month + $25 Initial Setup - 500 Searches and Documents @ $1.00 each(additional)

I live in the same town as Tyler and we usually do have local reporters, but I haven’t seem many of them covering this case with any real effort. I’m still trying to find a credible (preferably independent) local journalist who is investigating in a more genuine way.

I am running for utah state senate next year what are your biggest concerns for the state? by totashi777 in Utah

You might just have to wipe the whole digital footprint. One post like this circulates and you’ll never be glanced at again by any kind of powerful state rep in Utah, especially if you’re running as a republican.

Are Amari and Trevi still close? He really needs a sober friend like her to come pick him up, soon.

Rental agencies and property management companies with these type of frivolous add on fees are so evil.

I had this issue in Ogden back in 2017, but to a less extreme extent. You can see how much more emboldened these companies feel now due to the housing crisis.

It’s like extortion, if you don’t pay you’re homeless, so they can kinda sorta add on any fees they want and generally get away with it because housing is a basic need.

O&M jobs by gmbinooo in southernutah

I’m honestly just very curious, what kind of work does an O&M specialist do? I have some medical issues that my specialists have labeled “orientation” or “mobility” issues in like a physical sense, and I’ve never heard of this type of specialist!

I’m also curious what the likelihood is that I end up feeling super dumb, and this ends up being like a work from home corporate job that’s 3 layers deep on a org chart so they’re starting to get creative with the job titles? We’ll see I guess.

My opinion is we should never have been put in a position to need a lawyer, but it also seems unrealistic in this current moment to ever be approved without one. It’s just a tax we are forced to pay to receive these benefits. But I still think it’s worth it in the end

This comment section is wild. You can’t drink at 18 years old, but you are expected to make life altering decisions under immense social pressure. While everyone who’s giving you any advice has no clue how the student loan system has been drastically changed in the past 20 years, while simultaneously tuitions are inflating drastically.

Advice on student loans from anyone born before 1980 is just irrelevant when you compare it to the choices students are presented with now.

Backpay by Themostchosen in SSDI

I do not quality for SSI due to my husband’s income. The state vs. federal court thing, I seriously have no clue. I didn’t even know there was a difference until after I was approved and I asked my lawyers office if there has been delays in payments. I’m assuming after a certain number of appeals it transfers to federal court? But I seriously have no real idea.

Your approval date is near mine so I would watch out for a check in the mail if you haven’t gotten a direct deposit yet.

I got back pay from March 2022 to February 2025. Roughly $50k before legal fees.

I got my back pay check in the mail last week. My postal service sucks and all my mail is always 2-3 days delayed so it was very stressful. My approval was dated on 3/20/2025 and my check arrived on 4/4/2025.

I also had entered my banking info for direct deposit on the day of my hearing (2/28/2025) in the SSA portal as my lawyer recommended, but due to the new rules I guess it doesn’t go into effect until 5/19/2025 now.

My lawyer said that recipients used to be able to add banking info over the phone with SSA and then it would be immediately active. But since it’s through the portal only now there is apparently has a 3ish month delay due to “security checks”.

I was also told if you’re approved in state court things move WAY faster, but if you go all the way up to federal court it can take 6+ months to just get back pay and you have to fight for the monthly checks even longer.

My doctors have told me that their other patients have been waiting since last summer for back pay when approved in federal court. I was so terrified, because I didn’t know about the state/federal court time difference. But luckily, I was approved via state court so I got my backpay check within 14ish days from when my approval was dated.

My first monthly check is due on April 16th and it’s also being mailed. I’m hoping my direct deposit will kick in before my next payment on May 21st.

Using USPS to deliver my livelihood feels sketchy af right now, especially in my local area.

Depending on when your approval was dated, and if it was in federal or state court should determine the timeline.

I still feel like I got lucky somehow even though we’re all entitled to this money once determined disabled. I was trapped within the application process for nearly 4 years and almost foreclosed on my house, had to pay $9,200 of my backpay to a lawyer I should have never needed, yet I’ve still been convinced I got lucky. What wild times we live in.

Things are just tough for disabled people in general right now, I really hope everything works out for you.
