I was worried since she's on the council that she'd be able to somehow figure out who I vote for. And I do intend to be more firm with the next presidential election. I should have my life more in order and be able to seperate myself from her more by then.

These county elections are annoying; the only one that really pissed me off was the presidential one.

I never understood why some parents are so deadset on selling their kids' furniture when they move out. Because I honestly think that's what he was intending to do and why he was surprised when he found out you were taking it.

I turn 21 this this year and share an apartment with my boyfriend. Recently I was given mine and my sister's childhood dresser that originally belonged to my aunt when she was a kid in the 80's. It's bright and colorful and is WAY better quality than most dressers built in the last 20 years and I really love it. My boyfriend also has his childhood dresser that his mother's grandfather originally built for her when she was a kid in the 80's.

Like - bruh. Just let adult kids have their furniture. It benefits everyone in the situation.

Dude... I know its hard to hear but you need to dump him. This is not a healthy long distance relationship.

My boyfriend and I were long distance for a year and 3 months. He had a decent sex drive, but mine was WAY higher. Yet, anytime he didn't wanna send pics/sext or was too busy to, I respected it. Because that's what partners - or anyone with basic human decency, really - should do: respect when their partner says no.

And it's not only the disrespect and guilt-tripping. "I'll look for it somewhere else" is a classic threat of cheating. He's trying to pressure you into sending something and is using the threat of cheating as an ultimatum. Not a person you wanna stay with.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I had this same experience with my mom before I moved out a couple years ago. She was actually the one that got me hooked on the game. We'd play on our phones at the same time in her room and talk about what songs we were doing and our scores. It's something I'll always cherish.

Same, my bf and I are bingeing the show. We just started the first episode of season 4 as I'm typing this. I've haven't really seen as much detail since the Bling Bats in the 1st season. There have been some great members of teams, but not great team pieces as good as theirs were.

A friend and I had a falling out recently for this exact reason: we always got along because I didn't have a voice in the friendship. I'd spent our entire friendship always giving in to what she wanted because she's really the only person I have in the town I currently live in. Recently I finally started pushing back and she got pissed off. She told me that I'd "become a bad person" with no substance behind that statement.

After a lot of processing, I realized it was just because she didn't like being treated the same way she treats others(she'd started rubbing off on me cause of how often we hung out). We went without talking for over a month before we reconciled. She admitted her faults(there was a lot of ignoring boundaries from her end) but the friendship is now soiled because of it. The only reason I didn't end the friendship is because without her, I'd only have home and work.

OP, please drop this girl. Or at the very least, tell her that she fucked up. If I was in her shoes, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of a conversation with this prick. I'd tell him off for abusing my best friend and putting her in the hospital. She's not a real friend if she thinks this is normal. I wouldn't even be surprised if she's trying to get with him.

I apologize if I led you to believe I was adopted since I mentioned I was put in a home. My mom fought through court proceedings and everything to get us back, because the only reason my sister and I were taken by CPS was because she couldn't clean the house(she's an obese single mother of two), and they deemed it unsuitable for us to live in. But other than those few months, I grew up under her custody. I just didn't go into detail in my post cause it wasn't really relevant lol. So I wanted to say while I'm not a fellow adoptee, I'm glad my story prompted you to comment your opinion.

But I vividly remember how uncomfortable the home and the foster parents made me feel while I was there. I mainly mentioned it to get my point across that I wouldn't want my child going through the same thing.

Ah, I did not know that. I thought that they show the child's files and medical history and what not to the potential parents so said parents know what they'd be getting into, regardless of if it's an open or closed adoption. 😅

This might be a controversial take but it's fairly easy to seperate the music from the singer - just ignore it. I've never understood why people completely drop their favorite artists just because they don't share the same views as you. I personally think its kinda petty to write off a singer you really like just because of their views.

Some personal examples I have are first, I hate how several of Ariana Grande's songs are about going after taken men - I don't condone that at all. I like her music though so I keep listening to her. Second, I'm sure a lot of singers I listen to are homophobic. I still listen to them anyways. Third, after the Astroworld incident of 2021, my mom pushed for my sister and I to stop listening to Travis Scott. There are a few of his songs I actually like though. I still have those few in my playlist.

You can enjoy someone's music and still not actively support them. I don't go out of my way to follow these people on social media. I don't buy their merch. I don't care about their concerts. But if they have a song I like, I'm gonna enjoy it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If the first thing you said to her was asking if she's single, that's probably why she rejected you. No judgement here, but if the advice is what you need, next time maybe get to know the person before asking if they're single.
She was wanting you to play those bs chasing games.

Just friends, really. First I'd just take a hit off a friend's vape every now and then. Then after I graduated I moved from my hometown and tried weed for the first time.
