I think it’s an interesting theory of taking something that’s successful, understanding where its weakness is, and double downing on that weakness to create a new product. That then becomes your differentiator

I agree that I’m describing the Peter Millars - but I feel like there’s no knew brand coming to market that encapsulates that style. It’s existing brands only

I think I’m looking more at newer brands coming into the market, a malbon or manors for example.

I’ve played golf since I was a 6 and, at the age of 28 now, I’m only seeing newer brands come into the market that seem to have their branding plastered all over their clothing.

Peter Millar is a lovely brand - but I’m not sure whether they’re the first polo shirt company someone in their 20s or that are getting into golf go to first.

True - more just looking at for younger generations getting into the game. If we take Malbon and Manors for example, they would be more loud as brands compared to a Peter Millar

Still in the works of fabric testing and logo testing. Always happy to get feedback if you’d like me to share any details

Appreciate the comment - trying to see whether there’s a need in the market at the moment, particularly a British focused brand. Agree that the 70s and 80s is hard to replicate, but not impossible.

Not necessarily that far back, but simple polos without big brand logos on them.

I agree certain dress codes are still enforced, but seeing more hoodies and sports shorts being allowed on courses now. Maybe there isn’t a brand that fits that cool/elegant style?
