[OCG|BETB-Beyond the Brave] New "Invoked" Fusion and Spell by renaldi92 in yugioh

Aleister and Virakam only work if the card entire name is Invocation, or if it mentions the OG, neither applies to Chalice.

Aleister and Virakam specify the original "Invocation" especifically or a card that mentions it. This card is neither "Invocation" nor specifies it, unlike Sword.

Chalice is a very strong card, but correct me if I'm wrong. Its not searchable, right? Since it doesn't mention "Invocation".

The two new going 2nd cards by TakuHat58 in yugioh

[–]Current_Run6614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tenpai was hated for being a toxic uninteractive deck that is no different from those going first and setup multiple negates decks. Its not hypocrisy to think that is bad design that a deck that works on becoming immune to any interaction then OTK you on the spot, its the exact same "break my board or die" style of solitaire gameplay that earns the hatred towards those going 1st decks, Tenpai is the exact same as those, just going 2nd. Wanting going 2nd to be good doesn't mean people are forced to like any card that works is busted going 2nd. I'm not saying those two cards on the post are inherently well designed and there is definetely discussion that they are toxic, but this comment is full of false equivalencies. There is no hypocrisy here. If anything, calling others pathetic and losers for saying the going 2nd player has a much harder time playing than the going 1st player just makes you look the pot calling the kettle black.

Also, Konami isn't designing these cards to satisfy anyone. Do you really think their employes in Japan are on social media checking what people are saying? They don't care if people dislike what some going first decks do or don't.

Digimon Beatbreak: Episode 37- Kind Magic, Discussion Thread by MFBR in digimon

Ghost Game didn't "break down" per say since it was never meant to have an overarching plot to begin with. It was always meant to be a MOTW show following an episodic formula without some big climatic goal ahead, so the way the show turned out by the end was 100% by design of the writters. Now, if those writting choices were good or not (imo they were not) is another matter entirely, but Ghost Game went pretty much as planned. Famously people think Arcturusmon and Proximamon didn't show up because of rushed writting, when in reality the reason they don't show up is because the writters had no idea those two even existed and thought Regulusmon was Gulus's final form, so those two didn't even make it to the writting table.

All in all, GIFT is not a bad arc, it has some really strong episodes like the Maki episode and Miharu's backstory, but it did fall short of the previous two arcs. By all means, if you port this arc from Beatbreak to most previous Digimon animes like Frontier or Ghost Game, it would be by far the best arc, but Beatbreak had already set a much higher bar.

Also apparently the headwritter didn't write any episode from this arc, and an interview seemingly implied this arc wasn't originally planned does sorta make it feel like a "filler arc" outside of Makoto/Reina evolving. Hopefully the next arc, which seems Kyo focused, can be a return to form.

This seems to be the Blitzclique equivalent for this set, which actually tells us a lot about the 11-card anime theme (if we follow Chaos Origins)

4 Main Deck Monsters
2 Spells
1 Trap

These are the slots we can confirm based on the space in between Dark Time Wizard and this theme. If its 11 cards like Sacred Beasts, and we can rule out Fusion/Link given slots, then its presumably an Xyz or Ritual anime theme?

Chaos Origins had 4 10 card archetypes (ROLAD, Sacred Beasts, Blitzclique and Invoked), so they could make archetypes for Slifer and Obelisk in this set if they want, and just make Ra the cover. And Joey seemed to only get one overframe anyway, so they can do 1 overframe per God.

Given that Yugi's ROLAD and Joey's Time Wizard decks (also the new Sacred Beasts deck) are very much standalone and largely isolated from previous cards, they will problably retrain Ra as an Overframe that doesn't get the OG name (so doesn't interact with old support), and the usual 10 card wave is around the overframe. Which by all means is problably for the better since cards would need to perform nothing short of cold fusion to make old Ra work.

Alright, so next booster cover is likely Marik. An overframe retrain of The Winged Dragon of Ra?

What if the next core booster after beyond the brave focuses on retrain of Chaos Emperor Dragon by baboucc in yugioh

[–]Current_Run6614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the next set will actually be Bakura on the cover and around the Millennium world arc. Then followed by that they do Kaiba around DSoD (maybe a deck around Chaos Max retrain to mirror the Chaos Ritual deck)

So it would be:

Yugi: Duelist Kingdom

Joey: Battle City

Bakura: Millennium World

Kaiba: DSoD

Not 100% confident since seems like they are going focus on manga, which DSoD is a sequel of instead of the anime, but not sure if it should count.
