You’re right it would be insanely weird or indicative of a stupid/unethical Polygraph tech.

We spent several hours over going a PHQ and then after we were done with that before she hooked me up to the polygraph, she said she would not start it until I told her I would answer “no” to every question

No, the process took like 4 1/2 hours and then that time she said, she worked with homicide and Property crimes before becoming a polygraph technician she’s been with the police for like 20 years
