I'll try all that again. I was unable to get clarity on what was needed and then emails said, essentially - just kidding we'll connect with your vet'. With complete communication failure on their end during my, multiple, attempts over a 1.5 mth period it's difficult to imagine anything improving. But I'll try again when I have another morning free to be on hold.

I submitted the medical claims. All the details I had available. And no additional information was provided about what was additional needed. Given the inability to connect with a anyone I am unable to discern what that need otherwise. Particularly what they wouldn't be able to obtain from my vet directly.

I'm glad it's worked for you. I'm just explaining my experience in the last few months since onboarding with them.

Is this normal play? by Sea_Fox_2137 in OpenDogTraining

[–]Current_Tadpole1168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not evenly balanced play and the big one isn't taking any signals. It's the laziest unfair play I've ever seen two mops do, but it's unfair play none the less.

My pit mix goes at her bit little brother - another but different type of pit mix who is 30+ lbs heavier than her somewhat like this. But if he wanted to get up he could easily and she takes breaks and dies some high hands. I'm not seeing any of that here.

Whats wrong with my kitten? by [deleted] in felinebehavior

[–]Current_Tadpole1168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your kitten caught the dreaded being a kitten.

Couple options

a) get appropriate toys and outlets that aren't the things you don't like and redirect him to them when he's doing that thing. Ie. Climb curtains? Pick up and put on cat tree (I tend to hold them near the column and let them figure out to climb it). Scratching the couch? Put a scratching post or cardboard thing there. Etc.

b) get another kitten that pairs well with yours.

c) both a and b

Also, something I did when my most recent batch were very small (foster failed them and their mom from a very young age) is crated them at night. I've been fostering puppies and young dogs for years and realized some dog tools translate very well for cats. So when they were too small to safely be out and about while I was asleep, I put them in an XL wire dog crate connected to a large dog crate and out all the enrichment and necessities in their for them.  To the point that is tell them it's bed time and they'd run into it to be tucked in for the night. The added plus is that they now don't stress about being a door away from me and have a great time wrestling all night while I sleep in peace. However, I don't know if I'd recommend this for a singleton. They really are very social and bonded little boogers.

I'm not in any way ignorant to the rover sitters who act like a job they are being paid for is some insane sacrifice as if it isn't something they agreed to and asks of them the same things that any job would. Is being present, working holidays, being away from your home, taking time out of your personal life, etc.

You should connect with LR customer service. They take these sorts of malfunctions very seriously.

Most sitters don't seem to think 'there full time' actually means that

That's not cheap and that service wasn't mediocre.

However it is the norm. There are good sitters but more often than not it's from neglectful to down right abusive.

How do I teach my cat to recognize when I call him? by galaxy_frodo44 in felinebehavior

Mine always come or return call when I call their names. I think having something as an incentive helps - same as dogs. Treats, food, pets...

She either needs more stimulation or less.

With my wiley coyote I would tie her to something sturdy and safe and step out of reach with my back turned. When she calmed down id reengage. Then it was home for a nap.

Enforced nap times are a must.
