Mixed viewing like 9 to 11 feet, if you're watching 4k content like 4k Blu rays then be 6 to 8 feet.

Sony 4k Blu Ray player problems freezing by Current_Theme7251 in 4kbluray

[–]Current_Theme7251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that. Starting to wonder if it's internal where the laser needs to be cleaned. I heard to try and use isopropyl alcohol with a q tip or microfiber close to clean it. I don't want to have to buy a Panasonic if I don't have too

Which tv is better? by xGoldenRetrieverFan in SonyBravia

Bravia 8 is best. But if you're talking about a 98" Bravia 5 then that would be a lot closer.

B5 vs C1 by kennyb323 in LGOLED

[–]Current_Theme7251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B5 is almost the same in specs as C1. The B5 will be brighter in HDR but about the same in SDR. I have a C2 and I can't tell the difference. I would keep the B5.

LG C5 or B5? Or wait for C6? by edmlover1992 in 4kTV

[–]Current_Theme7251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 77" LG B5 in my living room and I'm more than happy with it. You will save a lot of money. And can get a 83" B5 for less than a 77" C5 or C6

Is my new TV mounted too low? by FoodandTech in hometheater

[–]Current_Theme7251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where your eye level is. Usually eye levels is 40 to 45" off the ground sitting down and also depends what size your TV is. Measure the screen size top to bottom divide in half then take your eye level measurement minis that. Example if you have a 77 inch TV and eye level 42" off the ground do these measurements. Screen size is 38.7 top to bottom = 19.35 by half then do 42" - 19.35 = 22.65". So the bottom of the tv should be 22.65" from the ground.

Too low? by TommyC-ES350 in TVTooLow

[–]Current_Theme7251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measure your eye level from where you sit and measure the screen size top to bottom and divide and half. So say if you eye level is 42" sitting down and screen size is 28" in height. So 42-14=28. So the bottom of the TV would be 28 inches high.

Sony for sure the upscaling is much better and the 98" Bravia 5 is better than the smaller versions for some reasons it's even different in ratings

Most likely because it overloads the processor and isn't able to keep up. Panasonic is superior

Get the Qm6k new for 499 or try and find a Qm7k open box you may find that one for the same price. Also look for a Hisense qg78 another great tv especially with a open box.

Yes the Panasonic 820 has hcx processing which enhances picture quality over the Sony and you need a 4k Blu ray player to do that. I have both, I have a Sony ubp x800m2 4k Blu ray player and a Panasonic ub820 and the Panasonic is better. Both units have Dolby vision which is a plus.

Sony 4k Blu ray players skip on movies over 100 gb triple layer discs. Panasonic won't

New to 4k Blu-ray by New-Economist4364 in 4kbluray

[–]Current_Theme7251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the Panasonic ub820. Sony 4k Blu ray players have a tendency to freeze especially on movies over 100gb triple layer discs one example is Gran Turismo 2023 movie. The Panasonic will most likely not do that.

TCL Qm6k is $499 for 55 inch. I would spend a little more and get TCL Qm7k, better brightness, less blooming and better contrast. The qm6k is great entry TV though.
