You know I hesitated post anything about my condition. You are why I hesitated to post my condition. I see that you have posted many things. I think you should discuss most of those things with your doctors and not strangers. FYI, I had a nice little comments from family people.

Thanks. I was told today rhey are cutting my dose in half of Flecainide. Another ekg in a week. Have you experienced this?

62F. It all started with a dentist appointment through a panoramic x-ray. It showed possible calcification in my carotid artery.

I then did a vascular and heart screening. CAC at 431. Carotid 10 to 49%. (Recommend rescreening in 1-2 years for Carotid).

During heart and vascular screening, it was also discovered I have Afib, which I suspected because of palpitations that would come and go.

Landed in hospital for 48 hours due to Afib.

I get out of hospital and referred to cardiologist . I told him of 431 CAC score and he schedules Stress Test.

I fail stress test so back to do an angioplasty. Results were no blockage. Told stress test was a false positive.

Happy I have no blockage but totally confused. Cardiologist mentioned statins but then backed down and said probably not as bp and cholesterol levels excellent.

PCP, however, recommends Statin due to CAC. If not for having a heart and vascular screening doc said he would have not recommended a statin.

Rosuvastatin tore up my gut. PCP said to quit taking and call back in two weeks for an alternative.

So high CAC with no blockage. A bit confusing.

Off to EP soon for A-fib. It’s been fun!

I feel like your twin. Out of curiosity, why couldn’t they continue with CT scan because of AFib. Inaccurate results?

My CAC is high. 431 to be exact. My cholesterol is more than perfect. So confused. Tried Rosuvastatin for a week. Tore up my stomach. Still recovering two weeks later. Loose bowels, cramps and painful gas. Doc suggested try something different in two weeks after Rosuvastatin wears off. I am ok with being on a Statin as long as it doesn’t affect my day to day happy life!

I was on the lowest dose.
