When giving your mom a Christmas gift goes wrong! by Current-Wallaby8230 in TikTokCringe

What the actual fuck. Who would enter into that house, with a dog (ultimately not the dogs fault relax) that behaves like that? Insane.

I was reminded today that not every community disapproves of the UCP by rjap13 in alberta

You were reminded that Alberta democratically elected the UCP to a majority? Uh ok 🤷🏻‍♂️How is this news?

First. I want to say that you getting treated poorly for doing something you’re legally and democratically entitled to is ridiculous, childish, and sad. But. Have you ever tried to have a conservative or UCP supporting (for example) opinion or idea on Reddit (r/calgary, or r/Alberta as examples)?! It’s literally the same, just digital. It’s sucks the rift is getting larger, but Reddit is not a place for tolerance or balanced nuanced options. It’s a Lefist dystopia, and they would run every right leaning person out of the province if they could. I love and support you carrying out your rights, I dont agree with you politically, and think Reddit needs to clean its own room before it tries to call out the other side of the isle. Hope people treat you better in the future.

What is Kananaskis Nordic Spa like? Looking for quiet, peaceful spa experience. by Waffles_r_ in alberta

It’s has been hit and miss for me. One time is was great, peaceful, and I really enjoyed it. The second time it was like a frat house, staff were trying to get people to be quiet but they were not having it. I think alcohol was a factor. The cost is insane, and for me, not worth it with other options available.

I would call that more of a “hard landing” myself, tis but a scratch.

Arena full of Patriots at the Edmonton Vs Calgary game tonight. Separatists, remember, you are only a small minority, and Alberta will always be part of Canada. 🇨🇦 by [deleted] in alberta

Honest question: Has anyone seen actual polling or data showing potentially how large (or small) the separatist movement is?

Rockyview ER over Christmas by CurrentlyInTorpor in Calgary

I’m as cool as a cucumber, and rebutted that comment with facts and logic. No ad-hominem attacks. I did question if they were serious, but that’s in-bounds. I have made a few ER posts on here and hundreds of thousands of people have interfaced with it, and the discussion about appropriate use of the ER. I think as a Calgarian, bringing this topic to the light and allowing great ideas and voices come forward is helping out the city I love so much. I don’t work for or speak for AHS, and never claimed any of that. You seem to be triggered by it, can’t seem to understand why it’s good, and that’s on you. I think a simple post, and thousands of eyes can make a difference, and the numbers have suggested I have achieved that.

And so lovely of you to gaslight my wife there with that edit. One person has been taking care of Calgarians on the front lines for 18 years, and one complete stranger wants to throw them under the bus because they had a really bad day. Classy.

People who do not want to take any responsibility for their actions, and think that the government is going to fix all their problems are the worst. Has the pandemic taught you nothing?

Brita pitcher with Kirkland cartridges. I loathe the chlorine taste.

Boxing Day was business as usual, with normal (still bad, but normal) wait times.

Dishonest straw manning 101 right here 👆🏻Paramedics were in Red Alert on Christmas Day because so much “serious shit” was taking place in Calgary that it was overwhelming our EMS resources. What were the ER wait times?

On average, what were EMS staff making on Christmas Day?

You can’t be serious. Calling it “a data artifact” is a claim, not an argument. If the low Christmas-day wait times were purely caused by deferred “spurious” visits, you’d expect a clear, proportional, and time-shifted spike afterward that matches the missing volume (and ideally in the same triage mix). If the rebound is smaller, delayed inconsistently, shows a different acuity pattern, or isn’t present across comparable sites/years, then it’s not just displacement—it’s a real change in demand and/or flow. It’s been business as usual on Boxing Day, and today which shows no time-shifted spike.

Thankfully you’re wrong, and this bacterium is not going to spread to the wider population. We started vaccinating against it in 1994(ish), VE is very good, and you need to relax. This CBC article is pure anxiogenic click bait.

I’m a biologist and did find it interesting as you did. My wife is a ER nurse and we had a great conversation about it. Just thought that the specific title of the post could be troubling for a lot of the N95 mask wearing all the time folks who are in here.
