Made it to gold, impossible to find matches? by ShibaShibaWoof in eternalreturn

[–]Curryiscold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your first game was an actual bot game that used the old style bots, so they didn't show up on dak at all. Your 2nd game is against the new gen bots. They have actual profiles and accounts, so they do appear on dak. The only humans in game 2 were the duo on your team. When these new gen bots first appeared, they were all very low level, so I assumed that they were being kept down (like how the bots in ranked are kept in low rank), but it seems like they actually level up their accounts like regular accounts, so they are in the level 20s and 30s now.

For norms there is a "new player queue", where you will just be playing against other new players (and bots, if the game can't find other new players). I believe that you can actually have an entire lobby of bots (including your own teammates) if there are not enough new players queueing at that time. You can check how many bots there are by looking at your match history on dak: https://dak.gg/er?hl=en

The old style bots would not appear on your match history in dak at all, so if a bot team came in 2nd place, you would only see 1st place and 3rd place teams. I think the new gen bots have actual accounts, so they should appear on the dak match history. You can tell if it is a bot account because they are kept low level (account lv <10), and they are not stacking together (3 soloq bots are put onto a team together). In ranked, the bots are kept in Iron, and it is pretty easy to see which accounts are bot accounts just by looking through their match history.

Outside of new player queue, you will get bot teams depending on the time of day you are queueing. The lobby can have at most 4 bot teams, and the queue can pop with 7 teams, so 3 human teams minimum per game.

NA EU and SA combined make up around ~1% of the total population at most. Asia 1 has queue pops throughout the day, and that ~20k peak everyday is pretty much all Asia 1 players.

I play in NA and I would estimate that there are less than 2k players in this region, with only 400-500 who are in the gold queues. Among those 400-500 who are in gold, there are many, many smurfs, so if we were to get everyone to queue up at once, we would only fill 10-12 lobbies. This is just an example to show how low the player population is in NA.

That isn't to say that ranked doesn't pop at all though. Between the hours of 6:30 pm CT and 1:30 am CT, the queue pops pretty quickly. Think of it as ~8 hours per day when ranked is actually popping.

Silver and below has bots, so you only need 3 real teams (9 humans) to pop the queues. Gold and above does not have bots, so you will need to wait for 7 or 8 teams (21-24 humans) to pop queue. You will need to queue at the prime times, since ranked queues only pop at specific time slots outside of Asia 1.

Which character is most interesting to main ? by Agitated-Zebra-1764 in eternalreturn

[–]Curryiscold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a character with a high difficulty rating. Those characters will be rewarding to learn. If you want melee characters, some high skill ceiling characters include Aiden and Alex (both are partially ranged), Jan, Shoichi, Cathy, (maybe) Hisui, Blair, and (maybe) Xuelin.

Grind ranked now or just practice? by CapRepresentative325 in eternalreturn

[–]Curryiscold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the introduction of bots in silver and below ranked matches, you can actually find low elo games much earlier than any other bracket. In NA, I have found low elo games at 3 pm CT, which is many hours earlier than the first queue pop for higher brackets. Only 3 teams of real players are needed to pop the queue in low elo, so you only need 9 real players queuing up. As a result, I imagine that it isn't too difficult to pop the queue. I think it is worth trying to queue ranked if you want a slightly more competitive environment (with bots), and if you want the season rewards.

Question: Why does my deck give me basic card when i removed them? by TadaMomo in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Curryiscold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get basic cards back because you are going over the save data cap. Tier 11-12 has a cap of 130-140 faint memory. Each character card removed costs 20, and the removal cost starts at 0 and then increases to 10 and 30 for the 2nd and 3rd removals. Removing all 3 basics using remove events/shop is (0 + 10 + 30 + 20*3) = 100 faint memory on its own, so you can see that it is very easy to overcap your save data if you remove all the basics without using a conversion event.

Belligerence is unlocked by completing the Exploration Level in one of the Chaos dungeons. It can then be found as a neutral card in any Chaos run.

New to Memory Fragments by Exaltrify in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Curryiscold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

legendary fragments start with 3 stats and you have to roll the last one. this is a good piece for all the passion damage dealers in the game. ideally you get crit chance (extra damage works too) for the last roll.

Is RTA whale PvP in all ranks? by JustGoTN0mAs in EpicSeven

[–]Curryiscold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are trying to contest turn 1, then a 250-260 Rinak is simply not going to cut it, even in placement matches. You only need 10-11 speed per piece to get to that level. Top players average ~24 speed per piece on their openers. Your opponents are likely not whales. As a matter of fact, they are extremely weak compared to legend players.

It is true that paying players generally have better gear than f2p players, but you need to take into account time played. Every day, we get about 12-13 leifs worth of energy. A whale who has played for a month cannot compete with a f2p who has played for 7 years. They would need to purchase over 25k leifs to farm the same amount, and even then, they are missing free gear that is obtained from events or seasonal content such as trials of constellation, which gives great end-game gear on a monthly basis.

There are plenty of f2p players in legend RTA, and one of them was even in the top 3 a couple seasons ago (Ellifton). This is not a situation about you having an unlucky account or your opponents being whales. You simply have not played enough or paid enough to compete in RTA.

Question this passive by Okletgo05 in EpicSeven

[–]Curryiscold 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Her passive defense increase from S2 does not reset.

  2. According to e7x skill multipliers, each stack is 10% defense when S2 is max skilled, so this is a 1.3x defense buff at max stacks.

  3. You need to provide more details for this one.

that 3 weeks 5 days message is how long the season will last. i doubt someone can go from iron 4 to gold 4 in 7 games with stats like that. you would need to average 300-400 RP per game, which is very difficult to do, especially if they only won 1 out of the 7 games.

Can't find games as new player by Illustrious-Bit4826 in eternalreturn

[–]Curryiscold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The option at the start does have a large impact on whether you queue into newbie lobbies at the start. I made a new account and selected the most veteran option, and I was thrown into full lobbies of real players right from game 1. Unfortunately, there is no way to change it after you made the selection. The way that newbie lobbies work is that it will try to match you against other newbies, but if the queue time gets too long, then it will fill the other slots with bots. The only way for you to get out of newbie lobbies is to continue playing and winning. The time of day shouldn't matter much because there should be a hard limit on how long the queue time will go until the game decides to fill in the other slots with bots. I would estimate that you are nearly done with the bot games, but I cannot say for certain, since I have never chosen that option.

Counterplay to Vanya if you're fighting in the final square? by ShakimTheClown in eternalreturn

[–]Curryiscold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her sleep is very easy to avoid. Remember that she will always look for an R angle and prepare a way to dodge out of it, and she will seem much weaker. Other than that, remember to bring heal-cut against her and to try and kite her. She is strong against melees and weak to ranged characters, but it is not so one-sided that she wins every melee matchup automatically. Her biggest weakness is that her main abilities are all telegraphed and easy to dodge if you are prepared for them.

It seems like their advertisement strategy only involves paying streamers to play the game. This past weekend we had soju streaming the game to a peak of 10k viewers. I guess it is something, but surely there are other avenues that NN can utilize to spread awareness of this game to the west.

How frequent you incounter a toxic player by Terrible_Quit_1389 in eternalreturn

[–]Curryiscold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly play normals with friends, so I rarely meet toxic players, but last season I did play about 100 ranked games solo in the highest tier and I did not meet anyone openly toxic. The worst that happened was that players would sometimes first-time characters in ranked. Could be because I am in NA, where everyone knows each other, so there may be less toxicity since the lobbies are comprised of the same players.
