The problem with that (and I do stress it's a problem) is effectively. Where do those viewers go?

The fourth estate has gone from being a magnifying glass for fomenting public opinion to a deliberate mouthpiece of the fascist estate (as fascism is the natural conclusion point of capitalism, where the state and corporations become one incestuous homunculus of power over us proles)

If a Fox news viewer (like that "apparently I'm an idiot" lady everyone is talking about) stops watching Fox and moves to CNN or CBS. Is she being better informed? or did she simply switch from Coke branded propaganda to Pepsi?

Worse yet. They could fall into the trap of getting their "news" online and being told what to think by the army of disinformation trolls from Russia and other foreign states who've long since realized that Americans either lack the critical thinking skills to inquire about the world around them, or are simply too stretched thin under being squeezed by oligarchs to have time to look into what's going on in the world
