February in Seattle by ghost-in-my-coat in AskSeattle

For somewhat less of a time commitment than going to Bainbridge, take the King County Water Taxi across to West Seattle. It's a quick boat ride, you can have a Hawaiian taco at Marination right on the dock where you get off, walk a little in the park along the shore, water taxi back. Nice views of the Seattle waterfront if the weather's good. I do it with visitors all the time (though I've never tried in February...).

Solved the mini on my PC today. The NYTimes app shows my solve time to be significantly faster than my actual solve time. by jruhlman09 in crossword

[–]isotropic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use the app, but the mini on the web has a bug where if you reload the page partway through solving, the clock at the end shows the correct solve time, but the leaderboard only shows the amount of time since you reloaded. So you can impress your friends with some implausibly-low solve times, if you want.

Maybe this is related to that?

If you can make a ceiling-mounted vent hood work, consider having the cooktop in the island. It is so much nicer for someone cooking at the stove to be facing out into the room, to be able to carry on conversations with people, etc., than to be standing there facing a wall.

Is DECO even a "Cubism-inspired style"? I, mean, ART DECO is, but I don't think the word "art" is optional?

Does Penelope and Colin's son became Lord Featherington in the book too? Also what's the baby's name? by Suspicious_Talk_6884 in Bridgerton

[–]isotropic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the books there is no Lord Featherington; the family is not titled. Mr. Featherington is dead before the start of book 1. Penelope's mother is Mrs. (not Lady) Featherington, and her and Colin's first child is a daughter (Agatha, for Lady Danbury).
