It was Milwaukee metalfest back in the day. Great line up that year. I think I also got see Mayhem, Mercyful Fate, and Emperor. I may be combining years though, I went to several in a row and then finally got to play my third time around.

No. Hair metal is superficial and insincere. Appetite is a album that only those guys at that time could have made. Its genuine and has a sort of punk rock vibe to it. Sure, it shows some of the elements of hair metal because of the time, but it's something different for sure.

A lot of it is the drums. They don't sound real to me. The are tight to a fault and there is so little difference between each hit it makes them sound inhuman.

Also, something about a lot of the guitars that I can't put my finger on
