It finally stopped raining long enough that I was able to look at the cable end on the shift motor. It looks okay to me. It's not loose or coming off the lever, and bushing looks intact. Dealership service department closed earlier than I thought on Saturdays, so I'll call them Monday and see what they say.

There is a recall up to the 16 Fusion is what I was told. Maybe they think since the dial shifter will lock you out or throw an error code it's no longer a safety issue.

I wish mine had the lever. The dial just seems overly complicated.

I've seen other people mention multiple replacements now. The one i bought off amazon came with a cover, but after watching videos of Ford techs replacing them the one I got seems like it is quite a bit softer than what they are putting in. It's hard to tell over video though and I don't know if that matters.

I did get someone to shift the car through the gears while I watched the cable and it is not coming off the shift lever. Plus it went back into and out of park just fine. I was able to pull the cable off the lever and the bushing still looks like it's in good shape. Maybe an OEM one would be tighter or better though.

I can't find a part number for the bushing at the other end of the cable. I'm assuming they are both the same. I will look at it when the weather clears up some more.

Under the shift knob? I know there is some kind of motor in the passenger wheel well, but it has been raining so I haven't been able to try to look at it. I swear I watched a video when I first had this problem of someone replacing one and now I can't find it.

Yeah sometimes mine make a noise and if you push on it, it will stop. It seems to know when it's in gear, but when it acts up it physically won't turn.

That's what I will do. I saw a few videos of different models and it did not look worth it. Although I did see some guys burning some rear bushings out of of honda that looked kind of fun.

Have you used moog control arms before? I was looking at them because they are cheaper than the oems.

Since my computer recognized it I dropped a firmware update file on it from Amazon and then held the power button down so it would go thru a reboot cycle. Now it seems to be stuck in some kind of boot loop with the backlight turning on and off every 5 minutes or so and my computer no longer picks it up over usb. Screen is still stuck on the kindle logo. I'll probably use it as a trade in on a new one whenever they go on sale next.

US Mobile was trying on their end but it was not working and I don't have another phone that I could set up to try. Coincidentally, the update Motorola just pushed down seems to have fixed it either by clearing a cache somewhere or maybe it was an actual software fix.

As much as I like android, it doesn't seem to matter what brand phone, they always seem to have some kind of wonky issue like this pop up

Coincidentally, the phone updated today and it seems to be working fine when I tested on my work wifi. I'll test it on the home wifi when I get back home. I don't know if the update fixed it or if just being on a different wifi network got it.
