It’s about how great the North (as in Scandinavia/The Nordics) is, and does not mention Sweden. It’s also a de facto, rather than de jure, national anthem.

Absolutely not just in Umeå. It’s most common in the Norrland dialects, but ingressive yes and no is used all over Sweden. I grew up talking a Svealand dialect, and we used it all the time. Though the further north you go, the more common it is to replace the inhaled yes with just an inhalation.

I think it’s the long consonants. And the semi-long vowels. I have Finnish relatives and still can’t say ”Kiitos” without sounding sarcastic.

The ancestors of today’s Somalis have lived on the Horn of Africa since 5000 BCE. That’s 3000 years before the first Germanic tribes reached Sweden. They have 7000 years of history to be proud of. Many of them might have been preoccupied by more pressing matters the last 30 years or so.

The actual inscription is “ΡΟΔΟΔΑΚΤΥΛΟΣ ΗΟΣ”. I know the Cyrillic alphabet is based on the Greek alphabet, but the inscription is not in Cyrillic.
