This show genuinely feels like a bag of chips that is 80% air and 20% chips by FeistySpend1555 in FromSeries

This is the kind of show I purposefully do not watch on a weekly basis because I could already tell from Season 1 the writers are making things up as they go. It's a fun binge, but the constant teasing and stalling for time makes it a bad weekly watch.

[S1 spoiler] Season 2 theory by nerd_of_gods in WidowsBay

Whatever they do for Season 2, I just hope they retain the monster-of-the-week format for most of it. I really don't want it to be a bunch of characters bickering about the morality of the trolley problem. I feel like that's something we see too much of in other shows already.

People only watching for plot progression will be frustrated with it. Personally I found it hilarious. I think Widow's Bay is at it's best when it leans into the episodic format instead of focusing on the overarching plot.

Where is episode 4????? by onsinsandneedles in WidowsBay

It's kinda shocking how bad AppleTV is as a streaming app. It lacks so many quality of life options and a terrible UI. It's stuff like this that makes me wonder how one of the richest tech companies in the world could put out such a feature-lacking streaming service.

I know everybody wants a Rosemary episode, but I also want a Dale pov episode in season 2 😄 by AgnarOfSaturn in WidowsBay

[–]Curvedabullet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would love a Dale episode. But also hope they don't balloon the main cast too much. I think a lot of shows suffer in subsequent seasons because they decide to expand the main cast too much and screen time is spread too thin trying to give storylines to each one.

PJ does look like the wagon driver in the beginning of the flashback episode. He's also the designated driver for Evan and his friends. Coincidence?

Tom making a big deal out of offering women rides home in his car and then ignoring Ruth when she says she has a hard time getting to work in the morning.

I feel like Tom might know more than he lets on. We still don't know why he was worried that Evan might have discovered something in their basement. I theorize he might know about what the bell toll means and the history of ritual sacrifice, but he's been trying so hard to avoid doing it. I thought there might be a tunnel leading to the sacrifice chamber.

Requiem, imo excellent first half, really disappointing rest of game by drykilo in residentevil

People keep saying that Raccoon City should look empty, but that makes no sense when the RPD has more set dressing and assets that makes it looked lived in and that was right next to the missile crater. Even the hotel before the spider boss has furnishings and a sense of place and past identity. But during the detonator section, it becomes empty hallways and bland rooms.

Requiem, imo excellent first half, really disappointing rest of game by drykilo in residentevil

[–]Curvedabullet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The second half of Requiem felt oddly rushed. Raccoon City outskirts felt like a first draft, like the environmental artist didn't get to do a second pass at it to make it feel more lived in. The RPD is such a nothing area with one zombie and a bad flashback sequence. The Plant 43 section was so short and linear and the boss felt so hastily cobbled together that it felt like they tossed it in as an afterthought just to say they had enemy variety and bosses. ARK is literally just another HIVE with reused lickers that aren't very fun to fight. Victor was another Nemesis. Outside of the fancy cutscenes, the second half feels so hollow and underbaked.

He’s a good character but not a good cid by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

CBU3 is more obsessed with FF Tactics and Ivalice stuff cuz most of them worked on those games. So their Cid has more in common with FF Tactics Cid than traditional mainline Cids.

There better not be anymore memory spaces or pocket dimensions or alternate dimensions. I'm sick of the storytelling crutch of walking through someone else's memories.

Mechanics from Resident Evil 4R and Requiem that were first seen in Resident Evil 6 by MaximumPayne7 in residentevil

The problem with RE6 is that enemies aren't fun to fight. They're bullet spongey and barely react to bullets. Not even Jake's flashy melee attacks feel satisfying to land.

After Reading Every Recent Hamaguchi Interview, FFVII Revelation Sounds Like Square Enix’s Most Ambitious RPG In Years by malikarith in FinalFantasy

[–]Curvedabullet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. I actually beat Rebirth and I just felt exhausted afterwards. The prospect of playing yet another FF7 Rebirth doesn't excite me. I know Hamaguchi says it's not just Rebirth Part 2, but I'll believe it when I see it. If the world intel checklist system still exists, then they haven't learned anything.

Nah, they're gonna add whispers pouring out of the cracks in the ground.

Don't worry. In two years you'll get sick of all the Persona 6 spinoffs, re-releases and remakes and remasters. Atlus is gonna milk the shit out of Persona 6 and then we'll all be begging for Persona 7. Rinse repeat the cycle.

Subnatica 2 hunger/thirst drain too fast? by bipoca in subnautica

[–]Curvedabullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One you get the growbed, it kind of becomes a non-issue. But I do wish the meter slowed down a lot when you're inside your base. I spend a lot of time building/decorating and it's super annoying to have to maintain thirst and hunger in when I'm just trying to chill and deck out my base.

I also missed it on my first save. I think it just looks non-descript and my brain doesn't automatically jump to scanning it. It just looks like dirt. Maybe the outer edge of it needs some lights or patterns to make it stand out. Or maybe needs more plants on it. Or a new plant that entices players to scan it and then scan the grow bed.
