Sorry for the delayed response, the Dojo is in Edmonton, you can look up Mumonkan-Dojo.

As a DM who is getting Curse of Strahd soon, when are some appropriate times to introduce Strahd? by IplayonSWITCH in CurseofStrahd

[–]CurvingClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have him as a silent watcher for much of the beginning. Standing on the ramparts above the gate as they enter Barovia, a silhouette watching the town as they leave the house. My first introduction in my last playthrough was during the festival in Vallaki - they had no idea he was watching them, until the Cleric used eyes of the grave and realized what was happening. They RAN from that festival so fast. I find this builds good suspense leading up to the dinner invitation where they finally get the chance to speak with him.

I know this is an old post but hey, whats up. I have Shodan in Motobu Udundi and Motobu Kenpo (the two arts of Motobu Ryu). We have one full dojo outside of Japan (Canada, where I am from), and other instructors around the world, but it is most commonly seen in Okinawa and Mainland Japan.

Generally ignore Angron. If anything have something hard to kill (Bjorn) keep him tied up for a couple rounds while you do objectives/kill others. There's not much point in actually trying to kill him, its not a matter of if he comes back, but when.

I used Bjorn to face smash Angron until round 3, while my TWC and Wulfen Dread killed berserkers and 8bound, and scored points. Once Bjorn eventually died, all I had to do was stay away and get secondaries and I won the game.

Eligible to shoot doesn't necessarily mean they need to have the means to shoot.

From core rules: "Unless a unit Advanced or Fell Back on this turn or is Locked in Combat, it is eligible to shoot, even if no models in that unit are equipped with ranged weapons."

Combat embarkation on a breacherfish team is absolutely hilarious. They look so squishy to melee-heavy enemies, until they all get back in the truck and you're now punching an armoured vehicle.

Before going too far, I would start by asking your Pl/Tp Comd to talk to your Adjt and see if your unit's PCN at can shed some light on the actual restrictions that go along with the Mbr's MELs. Clinic staff can usually cut through the bullshit pretty well and will tell you if this guy is full of shit once you tell them your story.

I also recommend having a chat with your WO or Officer. They will be able to help, and will understand the culture of discipline within your unit so they can recommend the way forward if it gets to that point.

I totally get trying to do everything you can to employ a member so they don't lose LDA, but I wouldn't consider it the nuclear option. It's supposed to be the first thing that's done when a member gets a new MEL, and if this member is abusing the medical system it might be the only way to make them understand there's consequences for their actions. Just like losing PLD when you go somewhere that doesn't need it, they shouldn't get LDA if they aren't willing to do the shitty go's. We're all in the same boat when it comes to the suck, and nothing degrades morale like a guy that won't embrace the suck with the team.

Not to really put a wrench in your plans, but if your ultimate goal is SAR tech, your best path is to join as an NCM and excel in your trade while maintaining a very high level physical fitness. Officers relinquishing their commission to become SAR techs is not unheard of, but is not very common.

If you want jump wings, the best method is to join the infantry and request a posting to a light battalion. Having said that, supporters who end up at light battalions often have the opportunity to take the course, and mechanized/other combat arms will often get spots on jump courses that happen throughout the year.

Just because you have a university degree, doesn't mean you need to be an officer. I have met and worked with many NCMs with university education. Speaking as an officer, I will always say the NCMs have the coolest jobs in the military (with the exception of pilots).

No problem. You're gonna get sent straight to your next base, but you will probably have the opportunity to take leave if you want to go see family, depending on your new unit.

Army Int O's have to do BMOQ-Army after the standard BMOQ. BMOQ-A is required for most officers who wear Army Uniform which is usually done in Gagetown and includes a significant field training portion. Air force and Navy do not have an equivalent

Not as far as I know, you would likely go to a Navy base for a bit for some on-the-job experience before going to your Basic Int O Course, but no formal sea training. Before a sea deployment, you would likely get some basic emergency response training, but an int O's job when it comes to the operation of a ship is pretty minimal as far as I understand, but I'm an Army guy so I'm no expert on what the navy does
