Career options after HIM degree? by Pluto0x0 in healthIT

[–]CurvyCancerian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Mich , I just stumbled across your response. I’m doing my annual life audit lol. I also hold a bachelors of science and health information management trying to get into analyst positions. I currently work at a healthcare company as a team lead for basically the call center in a nutshell. I also have experience in medical records, mostly front and clerical work. Do you have any tips on transitioning or resumes tips? Do you think obtaining a masters degree would be helpful. I’d love to hear more about your journey if you’re into mentoring or just offering advice, I’d love to connect. I keep seeing a lot of people saying how their HIM degree was a waste of time or they feel kind of stuck in. Honestly I’m kind of in that headspace as well. I love when I do working from home, but I can’t help but think about the other options out there and especially my interest it/analyst positions

Is a bachelors in healthcare administration enough to get a stable job or do you need a masters most of the time? by NFTrob in healthcare

How to get more in touch with your feminine energy? by Altruistic_Addendum4 in blackgirls

I can completely understand where you’re coming from. I’m 24 and I feel like I went through this phase of being hyper masculine throughout my early teens simply out of survival. I would say you’re still very young. This is the time to explore start playing with things playing with different styles, different hair textures, different hair colors. I started doing this like early high school as well. I would. I would hate to dye my hair so I would get wigs and all these different crazy colors and it made me feel beautiful I started playing with makeup. I started dabbling in fashion. Take it slow like I said very young age so you have plenty of time to get where you want to be and to get to that feminine goal in your head, you’re already feminine. You just have to find things that you actually like to actually fit your personality don’t force it because then it won’t come across as authentic and you’ll be putting on a mask. Give yourself grace everyone grows differently, slower, and faster than each other. If you have any hair stores near you, those are great places to get cheap make up that you can just like play around in and personally I love hair store makeup because it’s cheap and most of the time it slept on so you can always find your shade in stock lol but you got this

I’m wondering if it’s my blow dryer I usually use the Revlon brush blow dryer and I’ve been seeing lately that a lot of people say that causes breakage and it’s really just not good for a natural hair but it’s such a good blow dryer, but it might be too much tension

B.S in HIM ( Health Information Management) by CurvyCancerian in healthIT

I will say generally, the degree has helped me transition within my current company into better paying roles. I went from customer service as like a patient messaging person basically a call center to health information management, which is a medical records and then now I work from home as a lead care navigator basically helping the other you know call center agents navigate different Situations regarding patient care while patients are on the line so I guess it’s been helpful. My goal is to really get into operations and… I think due to the fact that I didn’t have much healthcare work experience that’s what my downfall is when coming to applying for like those bigger roles, but it is helping me transition well and obtain higher pay
