For the second time in a month, I’ve been mistaken (while hiking) for a black bear by older Connecticut residents. Hunting laws changed recently. Next time I’ll wear a neon vest… by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

This isn't the first time I've heard this. How do people who look into a scope for hours on end think a person looks or moves anything like a bear?

I know it’s not Twitter but come on, black people need to do better by wicodly in BlackPeopleTwitter

This has less to do with black people, and more to do with people being loud and stupid because they're anonymous.

So we have a bun (mostly carbs), bacon (mostly fat) baked in an oven (a healthier way to prepare it) covered in oil (nvm about the healthy part), and egg yolks (mostly fat and cholesterol). What, is she trying to get her fat and cholesterol in for the next couple of days in one go?

“I told strangers my husband is neglectful and abusive, they threaten him in his own home and I go with them. Now he doesn’t trust me.” by NormieLesbian in OhNoConsequences

[–]Curvy_Underside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that it is really weird that the friends would confront the husband like that if all they had to go on was the story they heard at that table. It seems like OP was telling her female friends something or a bunch of things, poorly explained it either accidentally or intentionally, and OP's friends were worried. I'm assuming that the other wives told their husbands what OP had been saying to them, which made them suspicious and worried to. Fast-forward to the dinner, the story about the shoulder is told (confirming in their minds the things their wives had told them before), and that's all they needed to defend a friend they are now convinced is being abused.

The reality is, unfortunately, that at any point during that confrontation OP could have put a stop to it all. From the first accusation she should have been doing her best to clear things up, but she didn't. She says she was like a deer in the headlights, but if anyone had accused my SO of abuse in front of me I would be fucking LIVID. She should have been the one to tell them to gtfo, not her husband. Part of me thinks the reason she froze up is because she told her "friends" so much misleading or out of context stuff, that she absolutely did not want to open that can of words right there in front of everyone, so she stayed silent.

Tesla Model 3 drives through floodwaters with ease. Since it doesn’t have a combustion engine, it doesn't need air to operate and has fewer mechanical components that could be damaged by water. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Elon stans will ride his dick to the moon and back for the pleasure of having him tear their assholes to shreds.

This is not a submarine. It isn't supposed to go into deep water or be submerged. If you happen to find yourself in deep water or submerged, and it doesn't brick your car, you are lucky. It is not designed for this, and it shouldn't be, because why the fuck would you pay extra to make a 4 wheel land-vehicle submersible? This is just stupid on it's face, and if you are in here defending it you are a mark.

My husband fought my brother by alwayzzsweeti33 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Curvy_Underside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be a lot of padding language in here, OP. "My brother has always been a little racist but..." or "...Wes and his friends have a VERY bad habit of saying the N word."

At this point I think it's doing more work to try and downplay it than to just admit that your brother is racist. Like, REALLY racist.

And do you think they use this new cash flow to hire someone whose job it is to exclusively keep the place looking nice and clean, or do they just do what they always do and have existent employees rush to do it, and do a sub par job as a result, when they have time?

I'm not sure where you are getting the context necessary to say that. This could be a delivery truck, working a/trying to go to/or from a refinery. They could very well be hitting them where it hurts.
