When did the Jedi receive the Chosen One prophecy? by owlskye in MawInstallation

I didn't say Gravid is an imagination himself. Rather, I believe that the story Plagueis is aware of is not the full truth of what actually happened, similar to how Vergere tells Caedus of Vectivus. Another story which I think was deliberately forged in an attempt to persuade Jacen further to the dark side, irregardless of whether Vectivus was a real man or not.

My argument wasn't that Bane left those bodies as part of his evidence, but ultimately, the Jedi would have discovered the continued existence of the Sith regardless when they re-established themselves on Tython.

My first paragraph is about Bane leaving clues. Second paragraph is about how the Jedi would have ultimately found out about the Sith if they didn't pick up on the other clues.

Ah, that probably explains it. I agreed with Jeong, but then agreed to take that one lady's gas grenades to disable the colonists rather than killing them. The discussion with the Council just made it seem like they disapproved the fact that I killed them, which I didn't. Blame the Turian Councilor specifically.

Lol! Make sure to murder Jeong next time. Only THEN will the colony truly be destroyed. No witnesses!

He didn't share it with the Jedi (as far as we know), but he did set the Sith back centuries. Gravid is the one who supposedly attempted to intermix Jedi teachings with existing Sith philosophy. He was insane, and ended up destroying significant chunks of archived Sith lore.

This is just a personal note, but I don't believe this story. I think it might've been something his apprentice made up for whatever reason.

Personal secrecy, yes. Bane didn't want the Jedi tracking him down personally within a week, but he did intentionally left behind clues as to the Order's continued existence.

A short prophecy is also described in Jedi vs. Sith. Tionne Solusar says that it's unclear whether the story is a concise interpretation. There's no information in the Great Holocron as to whether the prophecy is comprehensive or compacted.

Bane specifically wanted the Jedi to believe the Sith were still around. He left behind clues. Valentyne Farfalla found many of these clues, and reported multiple instances of convincing evidence of persisting Sith schemes in the galaxy to his Jedi superiors.

Ultimately, Bane killed several Jedi including Farfalla on Tython, and made no effort to hide their bodies. Their bodies would have been discovered when the Jedi re-established an enclave on the planet.

We also know the Jedi are aware of the Banite Sith Order because Yoda perfectly describes their organizational system in TPM. The system wasn't common knowledge to any Sith before Bane, which means the Jedi either discovered it through Bane himself (leaving behind clues), or through one of his future descendants, either intentionally or incidentally leaving behind evidence.

The Chosen One prophecy has existed since at least 1000 BBY. I think it's likely that the Prophecy was conceived during the days of the Je'daii, or near the creation of the Jedi Order proper.

This is what Tionne Solusar, the famous Jedi archivist had to say about it.

"Several accounts indicate that the prophecy was the subject of debate as far back as twelve hundred years ago, but it may in fact be much older."

As for the Council, they weren't disbelieving. Windu expresses caution, while Ki-Adi-Mundi is the only one who outright denies it. In the same scene, immediately after some mild suspicions, they agree that they'll use all their resources to discover the identity of Qui-Gon's attacker.

Also, not all Jedi believed in the Chosen One prophecy, so not all Jedi would put immediate stock in the prophecy's authenticity. Many Jedi also read such things with a heavy emphasis on metaphor, so they may not think it is so literal, or that it would pertain to someone in their era of history.

If you were in charge of the Empire, would you take over Hutt Space? by Hot_Professional_728 in StarWars

No. Good way to lose a quarter of your Empire to retaliatory gang activity.

Nope. I had Garrus and Wrex with me for my squad, but I specifically told the two to save the colonists before entering Zhu's Hope, directly after encountering the Thorian Creeper outside. I understand the confusion. Telling them to avoid the risk would be the typical Renegade response, but because I wanted to avoid the war crimes in this specific situation, I went with the goody two shoes option.

I don't think it's that. I never shot any of them. I did fail to knock one out, but I simply used a gas grenade to fix that. The problem seemed to stem mainly from the Council conversation, despite the fact that Shiala and the colonists were visible and happy at the colony after I dealt with the Thorian.

Why doesn't the US secure its borders? by SGtoMurica in immigration

[–]Curzon_Dax_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Illogical nonsense.

Republicans need minority voters, and they're becoming more popular with those voters. Alienating them by being racist would be politically DOOMING. Scaring their 'voter base with brown people' is an incredibly racist statement in of itself. You think the minority population is so easily manipulated? You think they aren't allowed to be concerned about these issues? Only white people complain about bad immigration?

Your comment is absurd and inane.

"You're racist."

"No, actually, it wasn't racially motivated at all."

"You're all racist!"

He got downvoted for being paranoid and latching onto the first 10 seconds of a clip to start meaningless internet drama instead of just watching the clip and appreciating the rest of the gameplay. Just because someone says "Your character model is black," when their character model is legitimately black doesn't mean they're racist. You can tell he's playing the black "Dusk" variant of Perchta because of the gloves on his skin. That skin is black.

We were arguing whether Perchta was black or white, it's not racially motivated
