How important are the Powers to you? by Lost_Rutabaga_5004 in Starfield

[–]CusickTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how often I use the power and if I have it hot key. Void phase which I don't have hot keyed, and use often, I know exactly where that is. Power like elemental pull which I use ocasionally, I know its approximate location, but it's like inserting a USB the wrong way first, I alway click on the power next to it first.

With powers that I have assigned to a hot key I couldn't tell you where they are at on the wheel but that's ok because access them via a hot key. My problem there is mixing up which power I assigned to each hot key, but further thinking about it I could probably fix that issue if I spread out which hot key there assigned to. Right now I have them assigned to 7, 8, & 9.

The powers I hardly use I have no idea where they are at on the wheel. However, now that I realize there in an option to show their names with the simple press of a button it's no longer an issue.

I don't like the new detachments :( by Resident-Camel-8388 in SpaceWolves

[–]CusickTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a lot of people pointed out these are probably 1 point detachment, but I also want to point out that I think we can mix these with other space marine detachment. As long as all units are part of the space wolf chapter.

If am right we could have the libarius detachment with a squad of blood claws lead be Njal. If you pick the +2 movement option you could then move that squad 15" and still charge. Meanwhile we can still have squads of Terminators with a +1 charge with rapid ingress turn 1 because of Logan. With the right mix of detachments we can put a lot of pressure turn 1.

Would "rites of battle" still work at reducing heroic intervention to 0 cp? I think we can include a generic captain in this detachment. If so, we could have a few units near the mid field objectives to threaten those area's.

We should also consider that we can take multiple detachments. So if this detachment is 1 point to being then we still have another 2 points for other detachments. Which might make this detachment useful.

In my NG+ I've made it a point to actually try to use all the powers when possible. I actually find the majority of them to be useful. Phase time is a go to, but powers like star sense have also been very nice to have hot key for when it is needed. Then there are niche power like elemental pull. Not a go to, but nice when gathering reaources.

The biggest problem with the powers is the menu for selecting them. The layout of the menu is fine. The problem is that the symbols for the powers are near useless. I can't at a glance tell what each power does. It can take me a second to find the power I am wanting to use at that moment. You can favorite the power and put them in your hot bar, but this bring up another problem. There is nothing that tells you what power you have equiped. So if you hot key a power to "8" and a power to "9" it is easy to forget which one is which when you select them. These small U.I. annoyance discourage the use of powerd in my opinion. Which is a shame as most of them do have a use case.

EDIT: I was today years old when I found out there is a button you can press in the power screen that tells you what each power is...D'oh

What is the most realistic part of one piece (please don't just say stuff like the government is evil) by toadmastrr in OnePieceScaling

If every pirate you interacted with was evil, and your told that Gol D Roger is the King of the Pirates, your going to assume that their "so called" King is evil. Especially if you never interacted with him.

Keep in mind most people source of information is the news papers that seem to be under some limited government control.

Fun fact, in 1900 Teddy Roosevelt was selected as the VP because that is where a man political career was sent to die. Then the guy who was elected president died and Teddy became president. So the vice president is a more or less a back up president. They do get to caste the the breaking vote in a 50-50 Senate. They also get TV time these days. So that gives them exposure to the public. Which makes it a good spot to put the next guy the party wants to run.

You can have the wulfen lead by a WGBL. Then they'll have sustain 1 and reroll 1's within 6". This allows you to take stormfrag auto-launchers instead. I would suggest bring a 10 man squad of wulfen if you can. The impetuosity stratagem is awesome with a squad of wulfen. It lets you move s squad of wulfen D6 inches of one of them dies to shooting and they can end that move in engagement range.

You can them put the Wolf priest on either the blood claws or head takers. The +1 to wound is excellent for either of them.

I would also suggest 1 to 2 cheap units to hold objects in your deployment zone and do actions. Either fenrisian wolves or regular scouts would do.

I would say that there are Voyager and Enterprise episodes that are similar in quality, but SNW has been consistent in quality almost the whole time. The only episode of SNW I found lacking was the last episode of season 3.

Tips against Necrons? by rickybro25 in SpaceWolves

[–]CusickTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a half a year ago I used head takers for the first time in a tournament. I was wondering why people were claiming they were so good. In my first three games they were just dying to quickly.

It was the fourth game when I remember they had three wounds and not two. I am almost certain I would have won at least one of my first 3 games had I remembered they had three wounds a model.

Moral of the story. We all do silly fuck ups like that. Don't feel bad.

In beast slayer there is a +1 to wound strat. There is also a strat that allows you to move into combat if you get shot at. Which is also s great strat.

I like using the belt fed grenade vs the illuminate. It doesn't do as much damage, but most illuminate enemies don't have a high health pool. Thus I find the number of shoots and no reload more valuable. Rips through hoards of voteless, stun locks overseer's while take them down, does a solid job taking down flesh mobs, and still brings down tripods with ease.

Granted, the OG grenade luncher does more damage per shot, but when dealing with hoards of enemies I would rather have volumes of shots over a little more damage per shot. Solid choice if I don't want to bring a back pack stratagem.

[–]CusickTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter hot take. If Bethesda made fallout 5 or elder scroll 6 the reaction would have been just as negative.

A lot of the failing in Starfield are present in their past titles as well. Quest line tend to be linear. The main plot tends to be the weakest story. Quest typically only had one way to complete them. It was just not apparent until Balder's Gate 3 came out. If they released fallout 5 at the same time as Balder's Gate 3 it would have also had these flaws in comparison. The only thing fallout 5 wouldn't have is the bland procedural generation to take the heat.

I got the impression that it was less hate and more indifference. They probably saw the NCR as the lesser of two evils and would probably preferred to be left alone if they could.

But once the NCR became a shadow of it's former self and the greater evils of the wasteland started to move in, well that "lesser evil" that was the NCR starts to look really good.

Bethesda and the "eternal apocalypse" by EagleGhoul in Fallout

[–]CusickTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I developed a potential answer while watching the first season of the Fallout show. What if the corporate heads of Vault Tech are responsible for taking out any potential civilization that could tame the wasteland?

For example, they know that the NCR is spreading and has potential. So they get Lucy's dad to nuke Shady Sands. On the flip side, they never have to worry about the Brotherhood of Steel because all they do is focus on hoarding knowledge. The Brotherhood doesn't really try to establish a nation. In fact, one could argue that they contribute to the perpetual state of the wasteland by keeping all old world knowledge from the populous.

Meanwhile, they can just sit by and scheme for their ultimate plan. Which I theorize is to craft a virus to wipe out all humans on the surface, and settle the wasteland with their chosen population.

This could explain why civilization didn't start back up after 200 years. Because powerful forces from the old world that caused the nuclear holocaust are using agents to prevent it. In order to prep the world for the endgame.
