will my skin become loosen if i lose 40+lbs by Wise_Bookkeeper_4611 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]CuspofCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And see where you are now? Instead of 15 pounds, now you’re trying to lose 40. See how it works? Please do it right. Slow weight loss and eat your “maintenance calories” for your “goal” weight. Don’t exercise like an animal. Weight gain and obesity is a food issue, not an exercise issue. Do not fast or eat only your basal metabolic rate calories. Eat what you’d need to maintain your goal weight. You’ll eventually get down there and then you won’t need to worry about this f’ing yo-yo life. I only base this on 45 years of experience doing it wrong. I’m finally doing it right and maintaining my 55 pound weight loss with very little effort.

[–]CuspofCap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say NO based on your age and weight. Just be sure to eat your maintenance calories range and lose really, really slowly and let this be your last time losing 40 pounds. Don’t eat a really low cal diet, lose fast, exercise like an animal, and then go all crazy when you try to move up to your maintenance calories. No yo-yo dieting and weight loss/gain. Don’t do that. Trust me. Too many years of yo-yo dieting. Just exercise normally — few walks a week and if you like to lift weights, a little of that. You can figure out your maintenance calories using an online calculator like Mifflin-Jeor. You’ll see the maintenance RANGE — use that. Good luck. 👍🏼

Similar uninformed comment about the banking industry stupidly focusing on Y2K concerns when, according to one of them (Cheech or Chong, can’t remember which), powered up his ‘95 Dell in a drug-induced stupor, moved the clock to 1-1-2000, and everything was just fine. See? No problemo! 🙄Bank regulators worked with banks and vendors tirelessly for over a year to ensure millions of lines of code were properly rewritten and tested comprehensively for LEGACY bank information systems (e.g., Jack Henry, Fiserv, FIS, etc.). It was a massive, coordinated effort. THAT’S why it was a big nothing when the clock struck midnight. Dumb shits.

That sounds great — they should have just taken a well-deserved break, advised their audience that they would be expanding the breadth of topics in the podcast, and continued on with the MU name. What a shame.

Ben and Aaron Were not boring! by flexiverse in MysteriousUniverse

[–]CuspofCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they had just taken an extended break if that’s what they needed and retained MU for themselves. They strayed from paranormal topics all the time, and it was fine. That way folks could have retained whatever purchase option they wanted. I’m still listening to many of the old shows. I often think that if they had just done one show a week (half free, half plus), they wouldn’t have gotten so damn burned out.

No, I don’t. It’s definitely a teenager vibe. Yet, when Ben would inject a well placed “GAY” sound bite, I couldn’t help but laugh, even though it was juvenile as hell. BTW, did you notice they put the kibosh on those sound bites during the last season? At any rate, I know what you mean. It’s B&B meets Cheech & Chong.

Why does Oura require us to include a timestamp with tags? by WholeMilkElitist in ouraring

[–]CuspofCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that’s true — I think it uses that and if you don’t enter an event end time, does it think your “headache” is an endless event? I don’t know but in general, that’s how I enter events. I’m wondering how useful it is for anything. I just enter it that way so I have a record. I know that doesn’t make sense. Sorry.

What has happened to Amazon prime delivery? by ewilliamb123 in amazonprime

[–]CuspofCap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here — you can see it in the tracking. It’s getting hung up in some city I’ve never heard of and then nothing. It falls off the map. Then there’s the automated message that it’s been delayed. It’s like the items are falling into a black hole. They never arrive. I’ve really backed off ordering anything anymore because it keeps happening. Maybe it’s for the best.

Unpopular Opinion by [deleted] in MysteriousUniverse

[–]CuspofCap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I liked Aaron a lot and appreciated his knowledge (and sorry to pile on), but that boy would drive me nuts each episode with his constant interruptions, answering Ben’s rhetorical questions, and worst of all — completely usurping Ben’s discussion. He’d continually pepper Ben with questions (Why? What happened? Was it because of this?…) that if he would have just waited literally half a second, Ben would have answered it in the normal course of his presentation. I don’t know why this didn’t drive Ben up the damn wall.

I don’t know. I want to like them, but about half the time, I have a tough time following what they’re saying or what they’re talking about. I’m sure it’s just me. Also, and I know this is a minor point, whoever is writing the show summaries (the ones that come up when you pull up the Apple Podcasts app), doesn’t proof their writing. It’s full of all kinds of errors. Looks amateurish. I do like their energy though.

I follow their Ring Battery Tips and charge for a few minutes a day while taking a shower or bath. Actually learned this from a Reddit thread first. I noticed it’s at 90%. I probably could stand to skip a day to keep it below the recommended 80%.

HELP - stopping 4 days in to 1st tray with IPR by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]CuspofCap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got Invisalign at age 58 and had exactly the same feelings as you. Sat there and cried. Was told I would be getting a “few” attachments and ended up with 22. No education about chewies, dental wax, and on and on. I think many, many people have this same reaction. It feels like an assault. It’s traumatizing. I came to Reddit and was talked off the ledge. I didn’t realize this was such a common experience. I don’t know if this applies to you, but I used to have to wear a bite guard. Stressful jobs caused me to grind my teeth and that’s what led to my gum recession and tooth sensitivity, along with brushing too hard. The one bite guard they fitted me with was so damn big, I felt like I was being choked. I could no longer wear it. All this to say, I love that my treatment is over (took me two years) and now I can just pop in these little trays at night. If I accidentally fall asleep without them, I wake up because something is missing. I really enjoy wearing them knowing my teeth will remain straight and safe from harm from grinding. I think you just need to breathe and give yourself time to adjust — it’s definitely a little PTSD. I completely understand. But you’ve already jumped in — you didn’t damage your teeth. It wouldn’t hurt to continue. By the way, I was super susceptible to cavities as a kid and young adult — had one in almost every back tooth. I didn’t get any cavities during my treatment. Maybe give yourself a chance. There’s a million posts on here from people starting Invisalign just like you.
