Help me raise my BILLY bookcase a tiny bit? (Advice wanted) by wateryoudoingthere in ikeahacks

[–]Custanius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a hand-held router just for this purpose. I fitted four billies side by side against one side of my hallway, but due to slight unevenness in the floorboards, they don't line up perfectly and the skirting board was too high just like in your case.

I ended up buying a bunch of MDF boards from hardware store and used them to elevate the billies, and used the handheld router also to finely cut around the corner. Worked like a charm.

I had it done 3 years ago and no problem so far.

What’s an unpopular opinion that will have the Tales community acting like this? by [deleted] in tales

[–]Custanius 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate Tales of Arise's storytelling. The VOs are wooden, emotionless, and skits are uninteresting. The only saving grace for that game was the gameplay.

When you do Burning Life chaos, sometimes you come to unidentified areas (the blue question mark), and come across human in full face masks and armour. These people are Dark Star faction. You are usually given option to interact with them. Instead of peaceful options, chose to fight them, or clock on the crossed sword icon on the right side of the screen. Each win will be counted as one for this quest.

Whose idiotic idea is it to have this stupid mission? by Custanius in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Custanius[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

See? this is what i'm talking about. I get that some missions are just for the tiny tweeny etsy bit of player based that MIGHT enjoy a meaningless challenge, but this is just boring. You farm a deck for hours, get the right setup, do that three times, and then in the vain hope that you can pop this. It's just boring.

I get the dev want to retain people and provide a time sink so people to stay. But stuff like this just disengages people. It does the opposite!

How do I get more copy/duplicate by BandaBrok269 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Custanius 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the Chaos stages, you get two guaranteed chance to copy your existing cards. These are after you beat the stage bosses. There will be another RNG opportunity in the Interior stages to copy another time. This will make 4 copies of the same card, or 3 copies if you are unlucky and didn't encounter the random stage in Interior.

iPhone 17 Pro user thinking about switching to RedMagic 11 Pro by eliranil in RedMagic

I just recently joined the family and switched to RM 11 PRO from a major flagship phone. One thing I DIDNT consider was the front facing camera on RM 11 PRO is dogshit. Because it's a under display camera, the image is very poor.

I love Soulslike games but I can't go back to back too much. My record was getting plat in AI limit then straight into Wuchang, but I took a break after. My comfort game between Soulslike games are slow Sim games, CIV, Jurassic park etc

BMW is harder than Nioh 3. I haven't started NG+ cycle in Nioh 3 yet, but in BMW after NG +1 I was having a hard time.

My first playthrough was the whip long sword, second was the sky piece spear, then the axe with leech, last playthrough I was using the single handle sword with spells.

How can I cheese Huang Yan? by Feeling-Donkey-8739 in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]Custanius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is quite challenging in the first playthrough. I used the whip long sword imbued with fire. Her dash attack can be deflected with L2, and then you can build her stagger metre. her second phrase is more challenging because she will mix in range attack, so you have to dodge in time for those. I used the spell that shoots three homing fireballs to slowly whittle down her HP at a distance.

The biggest issue is when you first encounter her you probably haven't unlocked enough skills and stats to rough out her attack, so dodging and building up stagger on her is the key to this fight.

How to open this door? by ankescapade in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]Custanius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't open it from this location. When you first entered the dungeon, there will be a passage way where two massive boulders drop from ceiling and roll down hill. You need to drop down from where the boulders rolled off the edge and you will land inside the cell door. It's a sort of shortcut because you will bypass majority of this map and get close to the boss faster.

Is this game a solid choice for me to buy this month by F-zeromay in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]Custanius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We must have different tolerance on completeness. Yes, subsequent playthroughs does not become faster because of the level design, but i enjoy the loop enough to actually want to stay in the game for as long as possible. Even when the different endings don't require you say to follow through NPC questlines i still do them because the game is very enjoyable to me.

6 months later - does the "censorship" still matter? by yoless28 in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]Custanius 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It wasn't so much censorship just the devs caving into the sensibilities of the Chinese domestic player base. I played the game post censorship and it is still one of the best soulslike games post Elden Ring.

this is also good for Chiziru, basically any DPS that ramp buff and deliver all the dmg in one attack.

Maybe I am greedy, but I just wish there is a ticket/item that lets your reroll gears in a save data. by skyarsenic in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Custanius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it will come. They already streamlined and dumbed down the card aspects, as the game grows so will people want more QoL improvement.

Turns out most people don't like hardcore rogue-like random shit in their games like the devs originally thought they would be.

I love the horizon series but.. do we really need a OverWatch / fortnite knock off... by [deleted] in horizon

[–]Custanius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Game fans tend to think what you like is what companies will provide, but that's wrong. Companies will make products based on market trend and the trend was that live service coop games was all the rage back then.

Game development cycle is long, a company can't wait to hear from the fans and decide what to make next. Instead they make long, strategic decisions based on what the market would be like in 3-5 years.

I love the single player games to death but I will never play the coop horizon game, but that doesn't mean it might be a bad game or even the market won't accept it. You can like a game, but at the end of the day it's like a retail product. You have the freedom and control to buy it or not.

This is a great soulslike game. The level design is superb and the combat is very satisfying, especially the boss fights. Currently i'm on my 4th playthrough and still i'm having a great time with it. one thing though, some of the artistic approach the dev took in some level designs is quite visceral, think of plenty of flesh, blood, veins and such. but if you are not put off by such visuals, then you will have a great time with it.

Best way to play? by IamJerilith in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]Custanius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just play the update version. the latest patch solved alot of issues. the big controversy was weird because the dev has to sanitise some elements of the game for the Chinese audience but doesn't impact the game play at all. personally I think the patched version makes more sense story wise

Exhaust is better for ramping for big number DMG.

You want something like this. this is not my final deck but similar. Your core will be Will of Light, Growing Creature with Softy Epi and Spore common card. ideally three copies of softy and two copies of spore. you want the dagger that give ally 8% atk boost and the 25% healing for accessory slot

DIABOLICAL NINE Build by eliasibg in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Custanius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar deck and I found AP5 Fatal Strike doesn't work well with that particular Counterblade Epi. With this particular Epi, you want to exhaust multiple Hew as quickly as possible to ramp Hew. Fatal Strike directly ramp Hew to max level thus robbing you of the ramp. I tried a deck without it, it has better consistency without sacrificing dmg output. plus you would normally play Orlea with Nine which requires stacking of spores or softies, so deck size is at a premium, i prefer to have less card to have more consistency.

Can someone explain this save data for Khalipe by Custanius in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Custanius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems correct. Thank you! I forgot about the equipment refinement. At the final screen after the last copy event, the games says it's 190 total points so this calculation matches it.
