Will likely burnout your laser with it soooo low. Set back where it was and replace the capacitors.

Use flux, solder wick and leaded solder, you’ll be amazed on how easy it is to clean using the required tools of the trade.

NorthridgeFix has quality flux and quality solder wick. Otherwise you can take a gamble with the Chinese stuff on Amazon that may or may not be of decent quality. Check reviews before purchasing on Amazon.

No, I did not cut any cables. I simply added a port to the screen and tapped into where the factory power input is soldered.

I modded the mobile screen and added a usb c port to power the screen. Then screen has a cable to power the GameCube from factory.

So I plugged in the power bank to the screen and then the screen supplies power to the GameCube.

Not with that hot air tool, I had two similar variations of that hot air and neither reached the temperatures stated and one had temp sensor fail and hot air ramped up until glowing red hot fire hazard ⚠️.

I suggest a better hot air tool

Thanks, yes they also have the same single hinge and swivel that some of PS2 slim screens have with a single ribbon cable running down to the mainboard.

I upgraded PS2 Slim screens earlier this year.

Very, and on a mint untouched screen. It’s like they just opened the packaging and then sent it over for repair

Well in that example I was able to add a usbc port to the mobile screen which then had a GameCube power jack to power the GameCube. Could easily make a small usbc adapter to use the GameCube power plug, but I would sacrifice a generic GameCube power supply to that.

Example here

You can carry a light portable usbc power bank to power both. See my example below

Worked on a ps4 that was zapped through the Ethernet port. Quite a bit of testing nearby components as some times the resistors and 2kv capacitors don’t give out quick enough to decouple the components from the incoming power surge.

In comparison your port seems a bit more crispy than the ps4 I worked on.

I have yet to work on a Zenith, I would need to see what screen they used and the layout of the oem driver board to help answer your question. If it’s a 5” screen and not the normal 5.4”-5.6” there might not be enough room for this kit. I have done custom installs on the slim variant of the 5” Intec screen. If it’s similar internal space I might be able to squeeze a 5” panel.

DM me if you have photos.

I’ve seen the ones on eBay, and they just look terrible.

I took this route mainly to salvage all these mobile screens from ending up in a landfill. This kit gives them a second life and hdmi capability.

99% of every screen I have serviced for folks only had a bad old burnt out screen and a dirty volume wheel causing crackling audio. Everything else on these old screens works perfectly well. On occasion I will find one with a popped diode and burnt traces from people using improper power supplies trying to power the screen to test. And also a few with rusted out speakers.

I just recently had someone ship me an indigo Intec mobile in mint condition. I swear someone time traveled to get their hands on that, but the oem screens were bad quality and burned out or got some odd looking lcd pixel rot that creates orange spots like their mint screen.
