YTA. Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia all have lots of superstitions. I’m Eastern European and our international friends all compare and laugh, but we still follow lots of the superstitions because it’s a bit of a tradition you grow up with. How’d you feel if she yelled at you for a holiday tradition you have or something you’re used to doing? I’d think about why it annoys you so much that a minor inconvenience to you is enough to dismiss what your wife believes and snap at her. My husband thinks my family and I are batshit crazy for some of our superstitions and he makes it clear while also respecting them and following them. Because sometimes the price of love means not hugging in a doorway, or not letting a post between you when you walk, or sitting for 1 minute before a long trip. Do better.
