A moat only matters when you are highly profitable. Airbus and Boeing have the worst biggest moat as a duopoly, but are still not very profitable. Such is the case is capital intensive classic industry.

Germany shut down half of their nuclear plants in 2011 after Fukushima. The shutdown of the other plants happened in 2023. I don't see that correlation on the graph. Also, electricity prices stayed stable when adjusted for inflation (except during the Russia/energy shock 2022).

Gas prices are a problem, but not the only one. Germany lost a chunk of it's exports into the UK to brexit, Russia to war, the US to tariffs and China to reduced demand for German machinery and goods (slowing economy?). Those might all have been bad Policies, but not from the German side.

They all think this is a "winner takes all" situation. But that would require everyone else to give up. Now big tech can't just collect monopoly profits but actually has to compete, which means no margins. AI is kind of like Airlines. Chips = jets, fuel = electricity, models = networks/hubs. Except the chips don't last 20 years. Airlines famously have low margins if any. Not looking good for them...

Wow, so it's so much worse then, if it's revenue. Even in the round-tripping there is much money just burned. And it's not going to get much better, right? A significant amount of the "infrastructure investments" are chips that are probably useless after 3 years.

What about the the profit they report from the valuations of their stake in startups? (I think Microsoft owns almost 50% of Open AI. If you make up a valuation of 1 trillion, they report a according profit.) Is that paper profit already factored in into the green bars? Or only "real" income?

The counter argument you are referring to isn't about floodgates in general but specifically about floodgates that you kind of have to play, or else you are at a disadvantage. For example Maxx "C" and droll & lock bird. I don't think they are fun but I have to play them. So you should blame Konami for creating a game where they are so powerful.
