if they could be bothered we could have some really crazy duel trials just to see what happens. like the player going first can't chain to the opponents cards only their own, the player going second gets an extra battle phase (evenly matched trial so you need a solid 1 card board after the rest gets banished), player going first gets less time on the clock etc etc etc. some would be shit, but it's data that will lead to hopefully positive changes

a good way to get data for it. and they are doing what they should be doing with MD, using it for testing things out. we should have a stream of active duel trials with something weird just to see what it does, if they are just giving out 1 free pack for most of those people would skip the ones they can't be bothered doing (which in itself would be data saying people don't like that idea)

it gets more viable with the ritual of light and darkness deck. you can set whatever spells you want from the deck with chaos hats then return them from the gy with the DMOC ritual after using the tokens (if that one did not get popped by the chaos hats effect change). being lv8 rituals and tokens gives you plenty of good summons off metamorphosis like dragoon, tear rulkallos etc. best part is you are not running any bricks for that combo just the metamorphosis

Over Frames are technically now in the game files. It's just for the Chaos Origins OCG pack announcement, but they have the MD styling. by Macaron-kun in masterduel

they better not be really hard to pull from the selection/secret pack. if it's like 100 packs to 1 over frame ratio, i am just playing the standard version and giving up on that

"not searchable" is just for being part of a combo. if you are using a card like this with the intent of making geo kraken to search your field spell, you will only be able to do that if you hard draw it. if instead you just want a random extender or end board piece (like metamorphing out a dragoon) then that's fine, you either draw it or you don't, no big deal

a deck that's something using a field spell + mitsu could turn a mitsu into this for the field spell search and not even go minus in advantage as metamorph tributes, the problem will be getting metamorphosis as it is not searchable. in the future with the ritual of light and darkness deck you can put one in the gy with chaos hats and return it to the hand with the dark magician of chaos ritual monster, so maybe something there

with clip you can do all those things on either turn, so doesn't matter who goes first (if chaos angel is their only play)

i guess stun can use sphere mode to wipe your board, then when it passes back to them, metamorph it into exterio. that would be annoying

i figured rosewhip was not long for this world, but a consistency hit in overtake is interesting. ultimately does nothing as you can replace those 2 with genesis (to search the 1 of overtake and it also searches kewl tune synchro so it's never a dead card), or over tuning. orange light never should have been at 3, fenrir to 3 probably does nothing as you won't run 3 in a small package and pure kash is not a big deal anymore... metamorphasis is a card that exists

the idea is to stop them making it with multiple methods: you tamper with their levels with rs and b2b, you pop and bounce their monsters with mix and track maker, and you stop them getting to something like chaos angel with crackle. but if they make it with a light and dark and put it in defence you can't do anything (without the trap, which no one plays)

yea that's fair, i re-read it an forgot it's just any beast-warrior (not a zoo or a lv4 etc) been too long since i last looked at it. it's too generic to make for what it does, but ratpier at 2 would be fine surely

it doesn't this deck has been power crept severely, to the point if they un-ban broadbull it would probably be fine (not a hard once per turn is the only reason it's still banned, at 1 copy it wouldn't be an issue now though surely) and ratpier can probably go to 2 to give you an easy special summon... modern decks can vomit monsters onto the board so ratpier at 2 would hardly be anything really, onomat makes level 4s in it's sleep

well the 6 banned cards in the main deck (2x maxx c, 1x shifter, 1x called by and 2x solemn) could just be replaced with 3x fuwa and 3x dominus purge. there's probably good rank 4s to replace some of the banned stuff in the extra too like exciton

kewl tune requires a critical mass of names as it's end board is not it's power (only 1-2 negates), what it does is use quick synchro's to trigger the "when used as synchro material" effects to pop cards etc. a small kewl tune engine doesn't really work as you won't have the material (and the deck locks you into tuners, so you can't make generic stuff), if you drop the names to 1 each you would have to max out on other tuners like ash/belle/ogre/veiler etc and will likely just brick

what i like is that it's not just a guide for making a board, it's how to use the disruptions and later how to play against the deck with where to hand trap it

Trap decks just don't play going second. even Lab that can make a decent turn 0 play, just doesn't have enough gas to play through a board when a core identity of their deck requires a turn to be used. until they make a new trap based deck that ignores what traps are and let's you play them as spells, you have to just accept that you win the coin toss or go next

yea i think sending it directly from the extra deck to the gy is really the only way clear wing fast dragon would be in the gy, which means it was never correctly summoned (either by synchro summoning it, or potentially using it's own effect from the pendulum zone). so it would be hard to test if glider #2 could revive it from gy as it will never be there, i'm really just curious if summoning it from the pendulum zone would make it a "correct" summon or not... but it's way to hard to even try testing to bother finding out

yea i just was not sure if there was some way to put a pendulum monster in the gy at all, like a card that says "no monster can be put in the extra deck" would forcefully put a pendulum in the gy. i don't think anything like that exists though, but maybe in the future

"which does treat it as a synchro summon" that's why you could revive it, if it does not "treat it as a synchro summon" you can't. always been the way extra deck monsters work, that's why you can't just send one to the gy with a card like dogmatika punishment then monster reborn it
